Jon Stewart benefited by 829% ‘overvalue’ of his NYC home even as he labels Trump’s civil case ‘not victimless’

I dont' see how it refutes anything. So you clearly have not read the judgment as you claim, because it contains a long explanation of the law - its history and intent - that does not reflect what you wrote above. Again, read the judgment.

Irrelevant. The law is intended to dissuade people from committing fraud, whether or not it's successful fraud. In this example, the TO forced the appraiser to rely on information provided by the TO, and that information was deliberately and wildly false in a direction that financially...

Except for the inconvenient fact that all those things are illegal under New York law when done for financial gain - especially to the extent that Trump did them. Note for example that the person who did the estimate for the Trump tower property could not confirm the square footage because they...

Read the testimony in the judgment from the various bankers and insurance underwriters. They absolutely relied on what the Trump organization provided.

in my experience, @PoS almost never understands what he posts about. He latches onto an ideological position.

Duh. Dumb question on my part. In the judgment, Engoron shows that this is one of the explicit purposes of the law. If I could copy and paste from the NYT annotated version I would have done so with this section.

None. I did buy a property in 2009 after the market tanked. But I am not really wealthy enough to invest in the Seattle area market. It's not only extremely expensive, but very hard to find rental property with revenues that cover the nut, and cap rates are relatively low. On the flip side...

Why didn't you short the banks and CDOs? You missed an historic opportunity to make a gadjillion dollars, and you settled for selling three properties? Weak sauce.

Donald Trump is selling $60 Bibles as he seeks funds for for campaign, legal bills

Apolo Not just the Constitution but the Declaration of Independence and the Pledge of Allegiance. Four documents you can get free, all rolled into one for the low low price of $60. It is symbolically perfect as well, the obliteration of the line between church and state!

Hey big T, have you read the judgment? Engoron goes through the law, how it was applied, and how the disgorgement amount was arrived at. It's all in the first 10 pages or so, though @Visbek has summarized it in another thread.

Why is Trix spending time on these forums anyway? As an expert who knows everything there is to know about real estate, surely she saw the 07-08 collapse coming - a la The Big Short - made a huge pile of money and is living on some tropical island. She must have way more interesting things to...

I guess you missed it in the other thread where Trix let us know that she knows "everything" about real estate.

You sound like yet another person who has not read the judgment and so has no idea what they are talking about. Why do you bother?
