    Government loves fear mongering. Plus I can imagine that with what's going on in the world, there might be heightened concerns. The government can increase its anti-terrorism activities and do their best the detect and stop attacks. But eventually, one will slip through.

    It's why we see the shrinking of the middle class. It's not all on the R's, the D's have done their part for the rise of the Corporate State. Biden has been throwing out some of these band-aids, but they won't ever address the fundamental problem. Labor has been getting the squeeze for decades now.

    Politicians rarely do anything because it's the "right thing". Speaking fees are incredibly common. Student groups tend to have to raise money to have special speakers come in. Why do you find this odd?

    Well that could affect their bottom line too. If they lose workers or don't have the hours to get the work done, it will decrease the quality and output of work that could then turn customers off.
