Proof that humans are not animals

Some humans rape as a means of reproducing, so according to your attempt at logic, that would mean that humans are animals.

    What is AI, really?

The developers use code to create a neural network or other learning model, much the same way that your mother’s sexual misadventures with your father created a neural network in your skull. When you learn a word in Spanish, your parents don’t have to remove your brain and add new neurons to...

    What is AI, really?

Here is a prompt: Here is the reply: It obviously isn't just looking for which words those words that I just made up are usually paired with. It is tracking concepts representationally and using those spontaneously invented words to represent those concepts. You can do that with humans...

    What is AI, really?

That is how autocomplete works. Modern LLMs like ChatGPT represent concepts in multidimensional vector spaces to maintain relationships between ideas. It also uses reinforcement learning with human feedback in addition to pretraining. There is much more to it these days than just tallying...

    What is AI, really?

According to that logic, humans aren't self aware either, since they will be unresponsive if you remove their brains. AI software is instructed to be intelligent. That is incorrect. AI is not just another word for computing. AI is a specific type of software that functions radically differently.

    What is AI, really?

And if you remove a brain from someone, they will not even give you that when you ask. Is there a point to any of that? The software is intelligent. If you remove the software, you remove the intelligence, obviously. That is one of the more bizarre strawman arguments I have ever seen. Did you...

    What is AI, really?

Your ignorance of the difference doesn’t mean there isn’t a difference.

    What is AI, really?

It has been called AI since John McCarthy first coined the term in 1955.

No 2A = A nation of lemmings cowering in their own homes

The definition I used was accurate.

    What is AI, really?

It has been called AI for 70 years now.

No 2A = A nation of lemmings cowering in their own homes

Perhaps you should learn what the words mean then. A deterrent is something that deters someone from from taking a particular action.

    What is AI, really?

Neither in this case. I am talking about adjusting parameter values at runtime, which does not involve a developer editing code and recompiling, nor any change to the input coming from either training data or end users. You have data encoded in your DNA that affects how your brain is formed...

No 2A = A nation of lemmings cowering in their own homes

The US prison population is the product of a failed society that is miserably ineffective at dealing with crime compared to the rest of the developed world.

No 2A = A nation of lemmings cowering in their own homes

A society in which the law is respected, and people have better options in life than violence. The idea that fear is the only deterrent is so very American.

    What is AI, really?

It isn’t even given the D&D rules. No dev coded D&D rules into ChatGPT’s software. Instead, the devs gave it the ability read and learn. It gets the rules by looking up the rules and reading them just like anyone would. That is a pretty significant difference from conventional coding logic.
