Gov. Ron DeSantis was in St. Petersburg to discuss red tide on Wednesday, but took time to answer questions and address Florida’s recent spike in coronavirus casesand stress the importance of the COVID vaccine.

“Here’s, I think, the most important thing with the data: if you are vaccinated, fully vaccinated, the chance of you getting seriously ill or dying from COVID is effectively zero,” DeSantis said. “If you look at the people who are being admitted to hospitals, over 95 percent of them are either not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated at all. These vaccines are saving lives. They are reducing mortality.”

Right on cue! Massive increase in COVID cases in FL, and the GOP's chosen golden boy they are hoping replaces Trump as the nominee in 2024, comes back from his political stunt in Texas, and BEGS people to get the vaccine...after recently selling anti Fauci T-shirts. No doubt his handlers had him do this, as very recently he and his goons have been selling anti Fauci t-shirts to his idiot voter base, all while COVID cases continue to rise in his state.

It's not just him, it's actually a clear coordinated effort by the GOP powers that be suddenly pushing their voter base to get vaccinated. They speak from both sides of their mouths though. One minute vaccines are "important", and another minute they claim the virus is nothing more than the flu or a cold, or a liberal hoax meant to gain control, and hurt Trump/Republicans.

A week ago, he was fighting a lawsuit by the cruise lines because he banned businesses from requiring vaccines!

Earlier this year, he banned requiring masks!

He's trying to talk out of both sides of his mouth, to appeal to the Trump base, and the moderates. It's not going to work.

Ever tried the whole truth approach?

DeSantis wasn't against being vaccinated. He was tired of Fauci's political mixed messaging.

Back in January, DeSantis was inviting people to come down to Florida for their shots.......and stay a while.

He was also asking for double allotments to help with the rush of northerners coming into his state.

He must sense a shift in the political winds in FL if the various rages out of control again. DeSantis doesn't do anything if it isn't for his political betterment. Maybe he is worried that he will lose a ton of voters to the disease. The virus is particularly active in the panhandle which is De Santis country....although it sure looks bad all over.
