From what I am reading there is at least some hope that the opposition can form an actual democratic government but we shall see what happens I am betting on military rule or just another dictator.
President Mugabe defies expectations, declines to resign
In a meandering speech, Zimbabwe’s embattled president made it clear that he has no plans to leave power and suggested he could make reforms to satisfy his critics. In the past week, Robert Mugabe has faced a military takeover and the largest protests in the country’s history amid overwhelming opposition to his rule that was underscored Sunday when his own party, ZANU-PF, dismissed him as its leader and pressured him to step down or face impeachment.

That country is so screwed up, it'd take UN intervention to sort things out and get something together. Otherwise, it'll end up a military junta or something resembling Somalia.
'UN intervention' never sorts anything out. At best it lends a aura of 'international approval' to what others have sorted out. What we'll get is what we have had for 30 years or so, a Shona dictatorship

Well... Not really no mate.
I mean look, Zimbabwe is pretty messed up but to warrant an invasion?
Invasion? Where'd that come from? Not me, that's for sure.
I'm talking about international assistance in sorting their **** out.
No troops....no guns...no wars. Just a bunch of stuffed suit diplomats to lend a hand to get their house in order.
It won't resemble Somalia because it's not full of Somalis. They are "special."
Since 2010 Sweden has granted citizenship to 11,338 Somalis. None have been in any way 'vetted' - claimed names and dates of birth etc. have been accepted without question. The US has 32.5 times Sweden's population, so that is like 368,485 being given US citizenship.
Somalis are indeed 'special'. They are especially poor at integrating into Swedish society or getting a job and have a special, not to say spectacular, crime rate.
Mugabe resigns: Zimbabwe celebrates end of an era - BBC News
I can totally understand why people a jubilant, why they are celebrating, it must be a great feeling...
I feel for the people of Zimbabwe... They will soon forget this moment, whoever takes over might be just as bad and brutal as Mugabe was.
Thank you Jack - interesting links
