Zelensky coming to DC on Monday?

After Trump got humiliated on American soil by Russia's murderous dictator, Zelensky says he spoke with the president.

He says he will be coming to DC to meet with Trump.

Not sure how this will go.

Will Trump take his anger out on Putin and help Ukraine, or will he try to force Zelensky to make all of the concessions because he failed so miserably in Alaska?

Not sure this is going to work out well.

Why is the English in the Ukrainian president's post better than that of anyone in the Trump administration?
 
Trump is in a very tricky balancing act. He (probably) realizes that Ukraine is ****ed, but Ukraine and Europe, as well as much of our own national security establishment, aren't ready to accept that yet.
 
The contrast in welcoming the two leaders will be telling. Ya think Zelinsky gets the red carpet welcome?

IMO, as long as Zelensky thinks a cease fire is possible without accepting Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson, and Crimea, have become Russian territory, they're just wasting their time.
 
This.

The US, UK, and Russia signed an agreement years ago. Ukraine would give up all of their nuclear weapons and there would be security guarantees for them.

Russia has broken that agreement and no one has tried to enforce the agreement.

Really, any peace agreement without much stronger security guarantees by Europe and possibly the US are a waste of time.

 
Hopefully he knows how to dress this time. Trump should make sure JD is there, ready to bitch slap him again.

Interesting take, though this is only held in the MAGAverse view of that event. Everyone else saw it as the clown show those two plonkers made it out to be. Vance's "have you ever said thank you?" nonsense was hysterically daft.
 
That meeting was the start of all of the JD Vance memes that are still in heavy use today.

I haven't read what happened in Alaska, but Trump will try to force Zelenskyy to accept concessions, will fail, and will throw another temper tantrum. Zelenskyy will go back home and continue to defend his country.
 

Russia violated the agreement when they invaded and seized Crimea.

In fact the US and Europe didn't live up to the agreement either.

The left should acknowledge having discussions is a positive step when no discussions were happening up until now.
