After the Al Qaeda Leader, Al Zarqawi, in Iraq's demise, we found a treasure trove - a pleathora - of intelligence and information on Zarqawi and Al Qaeda/the Insurgents in Iraq.

The Intel gathered constituted what many are calling a turning point, as Zarqawi's papers and computer files gave names of all Al Qaeda and insurgent leaders, locations of cells and Bases of Operations, plans, etc. Over 400 successful raids were executed immediately after, based on the Intel gathered from Zarqawi. Yet, the U.S. media ran stories of how Zarqawi's death and the aftermath/result of that attack meant virtually nothing and had little, if any, impact against the Insurgents. The immediate news stories had Democrats talking about how Zarqawi was a figure-head and how his death would make no impact.

For the longest time, the media had been running a barrage of constant negative press/stories about the war in Iraq, against the administration, and against the troops. The media could not get/run enough of the Democratic Party's attacks against the war and our troops. (D) Senator Kerry called our troops 'terrorists', another declared our troops equated to Hitler's Nazis, and (D) Murtha repeated over and over that we could not win this war. All called for us to abandon our new allies in the fight for freedom and against the terrorists who had attacked this country on our own soil.

One of the most important pieces of information, at least to me, found in Al Zarqawi's possession after the attack that ended his life was a 'diary', of sorts. In this journal, Al Zarqawi wrote that his biggest fear was the success the U.S. was having in organizing the Iraqis to fight against the Muslim Insurgents/Al Qaeda themselves. He said his Jihad, as told to the world, wasd against 'Infadels' and not against fellow Muslims. With the unification of the Iraqi Muslims in the war against Al Qaeda/the Insurgents, he was being forced to kill Muslims, that this would weaken support for Al Qaeda and the Insurgents, and that the Iraqi unification could/would eventually grow to a point where they could not be defeated. Time, he wrote, is on the American's side and if they could not get the U.S. out of Iraq before Iraq was able to stand on its own then all would be lost in Iraq.

In his journal, Zarqawi 'praised' the U.S.'s efforts as successful in cutting their funding, capturing their supplies/material, and combatting their forces. He acknowledged that our perseverance was a key but that he held out hope that the resolve back in America would erode, that the U.S. would withdraw their troops BEFORE Iraq was ready to go it alone...and that his biggest weapons in this cause were the U.S. MEDIA and Democrats who spoke out against the war, attempting to convince the American people that they could not win....even though that is exactly what was happening!

I just think it is pretty freakin' sad that we get more respect and TRUTH from our enemies than we do from our own media and so-called 'leaders'! Zarqawi spelled out on paper that America's plan was succeeding, that our resolve to do what is right was most formidable - possibly unsurmountable, and that the only thing that could stop us was giving up...and that our own media and politicians were/are the architects of that outcome (our cutting-and-running) for which he was hoping!
