Youtube talks in that article about wanting to be "inclusive", but it's expansion into demonetizing those who are Climate Change Deniers proves they only want to include anyone who has views that match their moldy Liberal brains.

Apparently YouTube is removing dislikes on videos from being scene by anyone on all videos now. We all know they've done this on case by case instances where there was some far-left idiocy going on but now they are just going to make it the standard policy. More silencing of the opposition and the protection of the asylum by the tech industries.

The annoying side effect is this will effect instructional and information videos, where the ratio gave you a good idea if the video you are watching is good or not, or has the correct information.

The article explains that they process of removing public discounts will occur over time, gradually, not instantly, not immediately. If you read the story you'd know this.

If you don't like YouTube doing this, don't watch YouTube. Should be simple enough.

I replied to this thread earlier with some of the top videos from some very far left youtube content creators I personally watch. Many of them are openly communists, socialists, anarchists, or all three. Two are trans.

All of their most watched videos have anywhere from positive to overwhelmingly positive (like 10,000:1 ratio) like/dislike ratios. Which far left content creators are the ones getting spammed with downvotes? The only ones I'm aware of are some small Tanky Youtube channels.

They're anti-state, not anti-government. Though often they are more anti-government than liberals are, especially when it comes to mass surveillance, policing, and the military. I view healthcare as an area where market forces don't produce good results, along the same line of reasoning as public vs private military, policing, fire departments, etc. Generally I'm anti-government control when it comes to personal life choices. Firearms for example.

IMO even if it is across the board (which IIRC it will be), it's a problem - but not for any kind of politics related bullcrap (IMO) but becasue it removes valuable signals for people to quickly identify and avoid (and/or report) scam, clickbait videos.

This is actually one hell of a consistent signal when it comes to looking for things like tutorials, and factual information about news as well, and seeing what to possibly avoid. One could look at the comments section, but some people don't want to give those videos views, and many of these videos have comments disabled, throwing that idea out the window.
