That's exactly right. Assuming that man is actually responsible for global warming and that it is not just a coincidence, which being a coincidence is entirely possible, then the population of man on the planet is the single biggest factor in man made global warming and the only way to stop it would be to decrease man's presence on the planet because, if you don't, we will never win the battle, no matter how green we become. We can fight global warming until the cows come home (pun intended) and never win the battle while human population explodes.
We've got young adults from Canada, Sweden, Germany, etc all pledging to not have children unless their countries take serious action on climate change. LOL. I mean we're talking about Canada, Sweden, Germany, and other tree hugger countries who were part of the Paris Accord. What in the hell is it these people want? I am personally glad that these idiots aren't going to be passing on their DNA. Let their breed die out.

A couple of issues. First, the atmospheric CO2 content was between 250 and 350 ppm by the end of the Permian 250 million years ago. Which is when Earth's surface temperatures reached between 35°C and 40°C. Second, there were actually three distinctly separate mass extinction events spaced between 8 and 10 million years apart beginning 270 million years ago.I appreciate someone bringing numbers to the table, but those numbers are pretty scary.
It's true, in Earth's distant past, CO2 once reached 2000 ppm. And at today's current rate, we won't reach that for another 2500 years.
However, when numbers spiked that high in the past, it did it over 60,000 years, not 2500, and 99% of all species on Earth went extinct. And that 36 billion tons we emit today was 14 Billion, just 50 years ago. The world population has increased by nearly 100% in that time, but carbon emissions have increased more than 150%. That 2500 years just keeps getting shorter. And due to this high rate of carbon emission, we shouldn't expect the collapse of life to correspond with the raw CO2 levels seen during the Great Dying. Life's only challenge isn't just surviving the conditions of high CO2 levels, but being able to adapt quickly enough to the change.
The harm is that man-made global warming is a complete lie, and every penny spent on this scam is a crime against humanity. Man-made global warming is entirely the creation of leftists in order to foist their Marxist redistribution of wealth scam on the rest of the planet.I have a lot of faith in human ingenuity. That problems that may seem insurmountable today, may seem trivial in the future. Maybe fusion power arrives tomorrow(might be useful to increase investment into researching it), and the cheap energy it provides makes fossil fuel obsolete, and makes our concerns look silly. But I've been told one shouldn't count their chickens before they hatch. Maybe we should look to our own genius, instead of relying on the genius of our progeny. In the mean time, if an ounce of prevention equals a pound of cure, what's the harm in being proactive?
Absolutely. We would be a much stronger nation today with a much better economy if not for this leftist scam. They are literally destroying the economy, which has always been the goal of the anti-American left. Why do you think they are using food for fuel? Their ethanol scam alone has already increased the price of meat by more than 300%, which you write off as trivial. Yet what has it accomplished? It hasn't reduced carbon emissions by a single gram. Yet you still think it is a good idea to waste even more food on fuel. If you don't see that as being completely destructive and counterproductive, then there is no helping you.Are the measures we're taking now "literally destroying our economy"?
You are obviously not paying attention. There are no negative consequences of producing energy, only positive consequences. Even if you could somehow managed to tie all the warming periods to humanity, during every one of them humanity has benefited tremendously. It is the period between those warming periods where humanity has suffered with plagues and famines, not the warming periods. So if you think global warming, man-made or not, is a "bad thing" then you must have a deep-seated hatred of your own species.I don't think many expect that an industrious species such as ourselves will reduce, or even stop increasing, its energy usage, so it's important to reduce the negative consequences of producing energy.
Actually, it isn't "in the stratosphere (30 miles)." The ozone layer separates the troposphere from the stratosphere and varies anywhere from 15 to 35 miles above sea level, but it is always below the stratosphere. Ozone is continuously being created and destroyed, and it has absolutely nothing to do with man-made pollutants. Ozone is the product of molecular oxygen and UV radiation. Which means as long as there is oxygen and sunlight, there will be ozone. When there is no sunlight, like at the poles during their respective Winter months, then there is no ozone. The ozone layer, naturally, is its thickest where it receives the most sunlight - around the equator.
Several random sources disagree with you. The ozone layer is indeed in the stratosphere: The Ozone Layer | UCAR Center for Science Education

Most people on the right do not deny climate change. That is a complete lie. Even Trump has acknowledged it at times and yet the left would rather play clips of him saying that it is a hoax because it plays into their hyper-partisanship better. One of the main reasons Trump took us out of the Paris Accord was that it put an unfair burden on the US to fix a global problem. We shouldn't have to be footing the bill for every third world country on the planet and putting our workers out of work to save the entire planet while other countries either cheat or don't contribute their fair share. The left are never going to get anywhere attacking the right for nonsense and claiming that the right deny climate change. If the left want to have a civil conversation on the subject then don't come up with generalized crap like these kids do, who seem to offer no solutions other than I want my kids to live. Well, no duh!
What are their detailed demands for agreeing to have children? Do they acccept mere lip service or do they want detailed policies? If so, what detailed policies do they want and at what cost? These countries were already serious about climate change in the first place and yet these kids are attacking their own tree hugger countries as if Trump was their president.
Most people understand that the Earth is warming but there is debate as to how much man is actually responsible, how much man can actually do about it, and how much it would actually cost. How can the left expect to have a serious conversation with the right when they want to eliminate meat, cars, airplanes, and want to rebuild every home in the US right up to the highest skyscraper? I mean, get serious. If you want to make a serious proposal then make a serious proposal. Don't give us the totally insane Green New Deal. We're not going to renovate every building in America. Both sides provide cherry picked, exaggerated criteria to support their position. Again, if the left want to have serious discussion on the issue then you have to be serious and in touch with reality and not just call the other side names because they don't sign on to the left's "trumped up" agenda.
None of them disagree with what I posted. You simply have a serious reading comprehension problem, as expected.
There no longer is a debate that global warming is happening right now and is being exacerbated and accelerated by human activities.
There is no "left" that wants to eliminate meat, cars, and airplanes.
Global warming is not a "right" vs. "left" issue. It is a scientific theory, proven by years of research.
Donald Trump has said that global warming is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese to keep us from being competitive. He has never retracted that position.
The Green New Deal is a non binding resolution. It is a statement of a goal, much like Kennedy's goal to put men on the moon by the end of the decade.
That said, human beings are not going to be able to stop global warming. Doing so would require global cooperation unprecedented in human history, for one thing. For another, we still have people in power who won't acknowledge the problem, and others who would rather rant about the "other side" or the "left" who wants to do away with airplanes and eating meat.
Those countries will no doubt take action on climate change. Places like Mexico, Brazil, and the United States may not. The end result of that will be continued climate change, perhaps to the point that even US "conservatives" will have to admit it's real. Of course, by then, it will be too late to do much about it. We're just going to have to live with climate change, sorry.
Climate change foolishness is nothing more than widespread delusion.
Donald Trump has said many things, including that he believes in climate change. You choose to use the hoax soundbite. Interesting that the Green New Deal has a 93 trillion dollar price tag and yet you say it is a non biding resolution, a stated goal, like going to the moon. In other words, the goal you want to achieve, like landing on the moon, is for the US to spend 93 trillion dollars and getting rid of planes and meat and rebuilding every single building in the US.
As long as the human population grows the global warming fight is a fight we can't win. IF there is a solution, and I say IF there is a solution, it is to decrease the human population on the planet and I don't mean decrease the rate of growth, I mean decreasing the human population. And that is an IF, because we may be going through a cycle of rising global temps that is one of the normal cycles of the planet. It may just be coincidental that it is happening since the industrial revolution. "The Left" have a lefty agenda and that is to claim causation that just because this happens to be happening while man is polluting the planet that this cycle would not have happened otherwise, even though it has happened many times in the past and sometimes to an even greater degree than what is happening now.
lol...nothing beats the god-delusion for foolish thinking. Nothing.
A non binding resolution has no price tag. It all depends on what is done with it. The so called "conservatives" have attached an impossible price tag in order to discredit it because it was a Democrat who proposed it.
If Trump has ever admitted that AGW is real, I've never heard him. You're right that he has said a lot of things, most of which is simply nonsense.
Im glad they wont be reproducing

Why would you want to bring children into a world whose civilization is collapsing because of climate out of control and pollution? What they are doing is the pragmatic and ethical solution.
Religious fundamentalists calling scientific fact delusional is the height of hypocrisy and arrogance. the fact that you refuse to read and follow the facts or their conclusions is not their fault.
Once again you have to create a strawman.'Run for your lives! Climate change is going to kill us all in 12 years if the US does not start giving somebody trillions of dollars to stop it from happening!'
