two Kenyan men have signed an agreement to "marry" the same woman.

The woman had been having affairs with both men for more than four years and apparently refused to choose between them.

The agreement sets out a rota for Sylvester Mwendwa and Elijah Kimani to stay in her house and states they will both help raise any children she bears.

Mr Mwendwa told the BBC he loved the woman and said the contract would "set boundaries" and "keep the peace".

Lawyers said the "marriage" would only be recognised if they could prove polyandry - a woman having more than one husband - was part of their custom.

No, definitely do not support.

Sounds like both of these men are stupid and there is no law against that. If it's OK with them, it's OK with me.

No, I approve polygamy.

I don't care.
If they are all adults, and not coerced, it's none of my business.

Only if polygamy is also allowed. ;)

I don't care what consenting adults do, I just do not think the government should support or recognize non-conventional arrangements. It would be okay if they stopped promoting conventional arrangements as well.

I don't really approve of polyandry since people just use it as an excuse to justify polygamy. Polygamy as actually practiced devalues women and is the product of social institutions that put such pressure on women to knuckle under that there is no real consent involved. As such, to use one case of polyandry involving actual consent in order to justify thousands of cases of polygamy that don't doesn't cut it with me.

In a perfect world where there really was true consent all around I'd say sure, but the world is not perfect and anything that sets a precedent will be used to establish the basis for the undermining of true human rights. .

l really wonder the invisible voters

"Polyandry" sounds like an absolute disaster just waiting to happen.

She's either manipulating the holy Hell out of both of these guys, or, sooner or later, one of them's going to get jealous and want to take the whole shebang for himself.

Either way, I don't see things here ending well for anyone in the long run.

Best case scenario, one of them eventually gets sick of "sloppy seconds" and leaves. Worst case scenario, someone's getting knifed first.

I support such an arrangement wholeheartedly on a private level and even with many legal rights on the public level. I also support polygamy as well. Both though are only as long as everyone is of age, able to consent, in agreement, and there is no coercion.

I also think that there are complications, at least within our own system, that do not allow for such a legal arrangement in this country to be viable without some major issues being taken care of beforehand. We simply cannot support it with how we treat spouses within our legal system. This doesn't mean never, only not until the system is worked out better to accommodate such arrangements.

*starts foaming at mouth* If we allow polyandry - what's next? Bestiality? Gay bestiality? Pedophilia? Communism? Socialism? Giant ants with top hats? Dogs with opposable thumbs?

 Do you have a point?

Yes, that you apparently want to stick your nose into somebody else's personal business that doesn't concern you in any way, shape, or form.

Would you like the government in your bedroom?

LOL. If we allow polyandry, child rape is definitely sure to follow! Come, take up arms with me, brother. It is our mission to be the moral crusaders of this land and to rescue it from the evil tolerant!

It's really funny, and they are the ones who complain about living in a "police state."

Good morning, Gathomas88. :2wave:

It worked out fairly well for a while in the movie :Paint Your Wagon" /I] with Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin. Of course women were scarce and they did both agree to share a wife... :lamo: Very funny movie, IMO.

Handling one relationship well is hard enough, who the hell has time to juggle two?

The OP asked if we personally supported it?

Then there's the fact that there are 3.5 billion women on the planet. I know. I know. This one is special. What do you want to bet that at some point, she drops both of them. There are also about 3.5 billion men on the planet.

while i myself would probably not be able to participate I totally support this if thats what people want to do. as long as its consenting adults.

If polygamists and polandrist want to fight for the new right to participate in marriage i support it because its none of my business and i see no reason to stop them LEGALLY.

the only hurdle they have is currently they dont have any precedence that im aware of to support them and how to write the law is the biggest. Like when husband one dies how are assets and kids split up etc, who gets custody is it joint etc. THats the only hurdle. I guess the best solution is that part stays blanket and the participants decided in the beginning.

But i still support it sine im a fan of freedom and not forcing my views on others.

They only want a limited government when it comes to things they don't like. When it comes to jesus values, they want a straight up fascist shariah law style dictatorship.

Quite disgusting really.
