Yes, Trump really did ignore the pandemic because he thought it was a blue state problem.

Just a little over two weeks ago, Vanity Fair came out with a stunning article claiming that Jared Kushner, leading the coronavirus response, was advised to ignore the pandemic because it was seen as just a blue state problem.

Kushner COVID-19 plan axed because virus hit Democrats worst: report - Business Insider

Trump appeared to be receptive to similar advice:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...33a0_story.html#click=https://t.co/boU2NIQqYV

But the suggestion that a President would knowingly ignore a health crisis because he believed it would only affect his political opponents is too cartoonishly evil to accept. It's a plot more suited to Gargamel or Skeletor, and an accusation so beyond the pale that it could only be manufactured by Democrats.

So the question is....is this something Trump would do? How compatible with the things we know to be true are these articles, whose sources are anonymous? Ultimately, we'll be exploring two things: 1)Are the claims in the articles compatible with what he know of Trump's feelings toward blue states? And, 2)Are the claims in the articles compatible with his known actions? Let's find out!

1)Here's the Chief of Staff of the Department of Homeland Security under Trump saying that Trump ordered FEMA to ignore California's wildfires because the state doesn't support him.

2)Here's trump, in fact, threatening to cut aid for California during their wildfires:

3)Here's trump retweeting "Leave Democrat cities. Let them rot."

https://twitter.com/jaketapper/status/1295097876427747328

4)Here's trump advisers saying blame will be laid at the feet of blue state governors:

Trump blaming governors for coronavirus in new reelection ploy - Business Insider

Here's trump saying he doesn't take responsibility for the pandemic:

President Trump: ‘I Don’t Take Responsibility at All’

Here's trump saying that blue states can get their own supplies, or that he'll help the blue states if they're nice to him:

https://www.vox.com/2020/3/25/21193803/trump-to-governors-coronavirus-help-ventilators-cuomo

And finally, here's Trump saying that the pandemic is the problem of the blue states:

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/05/05/cor...lue-state-bailouts-unfair-to-republicans.html

So in light of that, how likely is it that Jared told him to ignore the pandemic because it was a blue state problem and that he could just blame the governors?

Do any of the facts contradict the claims in the Vanity Fair article, or do they corroborate those claims?

Trump is now on record as saying ‘Let Cities Rot’ and ‘California Fires Are in a Blue State’.

"Leave Democrat cities. Let them rot."

That's a good one to remember the next time Republicans tell you he isn't divisive. Another good one to remember is that he let 173,500 people die because he thought only Democrats would die.

You know what the really crazy part is.

And at this point I sound like a broken record.

His supporters love it, they think they’re the ones who are hated and that Trump is hated irrationally.

But their hatred for Liberals seem to far outstrip their love of country or basic humanity.

It’s not surprising coming from Trump.

It’s devastating to the future prospects of a nation where around 40% of the country thinks he’s good and should lead the nation.

Still, with Trump there’s one thing to look forward to we know for sure.

Tomorrow will be worse.

So that’s good.

What a low life scum...

This is the guy who the evangelicals think was sent from God to be their protector and a moral leader.

Millions of Americans Believe God Made Trump President - POLITICO Magazine

Didn't matter much. According to Joe Biden himself speaking at a time that the virus had killed 170,000 Americans that if Trump had acted sooner the U.S. could've saved (exact quote) "51,000 maybe 57,000 lives".

Just look at the numbers. So even if President Trump had reacted as Biden thought he should have....the virus would've killed from 113,000 to 119,000 in the United States (plus whomever dies in the future from the virus).

So why whine about Trumps lack of reaction. ?

Trump blocked air travel from China in Feb - most of which flies into Blue state airports.

Nancy Pelosi and Bill deBlasio responded by calling Trump a racist (like they always do) and told people to come to Chinatown for CNY and pick up some local color, and Covid germs.

Maybe if Donald Trump would have undertaken serious effective measures of quarantine and mandatory testing and mask requirements in January instead of waiting until May the numbers would be much lower.

A timeline of how Trump failed to respond to the coronavirus - Vox

See, this response can't even be classified as "deplorable" anymore. It's just...sad.

Coming on the heels of a failed impeachment effort against President Trump, can you seriously claim that the Democrats would've supported ANYTHING President Trump did in response to the virus?

An impeachment that was the result of attempting to cheat in the 2020 election by extorting a foreign power to announce a fake investigation into his election opponent.

It's a valuable lesson: you want an honest President because not only may he undermine the entire national democracy, but in doing so may directly endanger the lives of everybody in it, as Trump so clearly has.

Republicans desperately wanted to believe that character was somehow disconnected from one's ability to do his job. But character is destiny, as we've seen.

The guy with the Nazi avatar would like everybody to know that cheating in elections is "irrelevant."

I don't have a Nazi avatar. If you don't believe me I can provide a link to the site where I found it. Nothing there about any connections to the Nazis

Cardinal Godwins the thread with an imbecilic accusation.

Trump really only cares about Americans who support him.
