US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen issued a call for large-scale economic assistance to Ukraine, warning that the amounts of help pledged to date won’t even meet short-term needs as the nation struggles with the devastation wrought by Russia’s invasion.US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen issued a call for large-scale economic assistance to Ukraine, warning that the amounts of help pledged to date won’t even meet short-term needs as the nation struggles with the devastation wrought by Russia’s invasion. “Eventually, Ukraine will need massive support and private investment for reconstruction and recovery, akin to the task of rebuilding in Europe after 1945,” Yellen said in a speech in Brussels Tuesday. “What’s clear is that the bilateral and multilateral support announced so far will not be sufficient to address Ukraine’s needs, even in the short term.” The US, which assembled the Marshall Plan to help much of Europe recover after World War II, is currently preparing a $40 billion package for Ukraine, expected to win final passage in the Senate as soon as Wednesday.
“I sincerely ask all our partners to join us in increasing their financial support to Ukraine,” Yellen said. “Our joint efforts are critical to help ensure Ukraine’s democracy prevails over Putin’s aggression,” she said, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion. Yellen also on Tuesday met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who later tweeted that the discussion included a European Commission aid proposal for Ukraine that’s expected to be unveiled Wednesday. Yellen highlighted the power of US-European cooperation in preventing Russia from trying to “play off some of us against others.” She also said that if Putin continues the war, Washington will work with European and other partners “to push Russia further towards economic, financial, and strategic isolation.” Yellen reiterated US support for helping Europe reduce its reliance on Russia as a source of energy, while calling for further efforts to transition toward renewable sources.
What's the market like for super-yachts these days? Good? bad? She's right. The means to have Russia pay for this have to be found. The lesson has to be that if you invade another country there's going to be no economic benefit derived from the action.
As The American Conservative magazine puts, the U.S is trying to prolong the war 'to the last Ukrainian.
Or you are being lied to.Russia's forces are getiing their asses kicked.
While Russia may gain in Donbas, they lose in Kharkiv. Ukraine forces are a spit's distance from the Russian borderOr you are being lied to.

Russian shelling of the eastern Ukraine city of Severodonetsk left at least 12 people dead and another 40 injured, the region's governor Sergei Gaiday said on Thursday, as Moscow' army continued its slow push into Donbas

It has been 60 years since a US ally (South Korea) has been as devastated by war.

The reports I'm hearing this morning claim Ukrainian forces are being pushed back from Russia's border. Capturing Donbass and the land corridor seems like Putin's goal which, from a Russian standpoint, could result in Ukraine disintegrating into several states with the blame falling on Ukrainian and Western hatred of Russia. While Russia may gain in Donbas, they lose in Kharkiv. The next Ukrainian focus will probably be in the South, not Donbas. Retaking Kherson is a must, would be a symbolic victory for Ukraine, and a symbolic defeat for Russia, which would influence morale of both armies. Furthermore the Russian defences in Kherson are not as entrenched as in Donbas, but a Ukrainian push in the south would force Russia to move troops from Donbas to the south.Defeating the Russian Army in the Donbass has to be the goal of the Ukrainian Army.

"Russian forces are continuing their slow advance in the east of the country after using heavy firepower to weaken Ukraine's defences.
Here are the latest developments:
How many more Ukrainians have to die for regime change in Russia?
- Bombardment of Donbas region by Russia forces is intensifying
- Russian troops withdrawn from Kharkiv redeployed in Donetsk
- Russia preparing offensive to take key city of Severodonetsk
- Ongoing build-up of Russian navy around Snake Island"
Is that a good thing?Ukrainians are at the Russian border northeast of Kharkiv.
Is that a good thing?
If so, for whom?

A Just Peace ( as opposed to a Just War) approach to ending military operations in Ukraine begins with identifying the root causes of the conflict as well as the genuine needs of the adversaries.Don't foist your comprehension problems on others.
Last time you checked, how many Russian-speaking Ukrainians have been raped, murdered, maimed, and/or displaced by neo-Nazi Ukrainians since 2014?Last time I checked Ukrainians were fighting for Ukraine.
