Actually, I usually vote for the underdog; having said that, the few gay politicians that have been known aren't worth a run for the presidency, but it doesn't mean it can't happen somewhere down the line.

Yes....because this is STILL America and America has and hopefully always will stand for the proposition that ALL men (and women) are created equal.
Even though justice has been dolled out unequally throughout our history...the principle remains.
If the person is qualified and I believe that they are a good candidate I will vote for them whether they are straight or gay or whatever.

I would have to say yes.Of course whether or not I vote for a particular candidate depends on his views.If that individual is a liberal then hell no I am not going to vote for him,if that individual has conservative views or comes close to having the same views that I have I will vote for him or her.
 
Wouldnt effect my decision. If that was his/her platform, and I was supposed to vote for him/her because they were running as "The Gay Candidate", hell no.
 
I would vote for a gay president as long as he does not use his office to promote a gay agenda............

By "Gay Agenda" do you mean Gay people seeking to live their lives in peace and harmony without interference from Big Government?

Do you mean Gay people seeking the same rights and privileges afforded to heterosexuals?

Most gay people I know really would prefer NOT to be in the limelight but they also don't want to have to drink out of a seperate drinking fountain and sit in the back of the bus.

Is this what you are referring to by "THE GAY AGENDA"?

Once passed in any region -- local, state or federal -- take full advantage of employment protection legislation and related compliance including Medicaid and workers compensation. The Gay Agenda as promoted by a few militant gays and a bunch of "feel good" left wingers is to jam the gay lifestyle down our throats and try to make it a suitable alternative lifestyle........

I can promise you that will never happen.......We will have another Soddom and Gomorroh first..............

Take a hint.....Navy.....NOBODY is asking for your approval or consent. Lets make a deal.....you allow Gays to live their lives in peace with the same privileges that you enjoy and no one will ask for your blessing. Deal?.....yeah....thought not. Your "tolerance" is a myth.
 
I really couldn't care less. The only interest I have in the President's sex life is to keep him from ****ing the country-- and as far as I can tell, being heterosexual doesn't make a difference in this.

I appreciate not having to read the details in the newspaper, however; I'm not sure whether this is more of a comment on modern Presidents or on the modern press.
 
I would vote for a Gay presidential candidate as long as he/she was pro-life and not a Democrat. :)
 
Hang on a second...as commander in chief, that would put the president in charge of life or death military decisions. Navy and jamesrage have both stated that they would vote for a gay commander in chief. If that were to happen, what would that mean for some of the membership of this forum?

For once, I completely agree with jamesrage on a gay issue...except reverse the liberal/conservative thing. :mrgreen:
