Let's say a regular guy is really into politics. His name happens to be Michael Hussein however he has no connection what so ever to Saddam Hussein. He's not even a muslim. One day he decides to run for president of the U.S. . Would you refuse to vote for him because he and Saddam share the same last name?

When I was in the Army I seen all kinds of weird last names like ,bengay, begay, gay, and truelove.I am not going to hold someone's last name against them, unless they are one of those female politicians who is married but does not go by her husband's last name.

I voted maybe.

I mean, normally I wouldn't hold something like that against someone, but if someone like John Patrick Antichristpedophilefecesaids was running for governor, I'd be hard pressed to pull the lever.

I think there's a law somewhere for names like that. I think it's Spain. Names like Darling are in it. Dont know about John Patrick Antichristpedophilefecesaids.

People don't speak of this much, but there are Arab Christians. There are some in Iraq, and many in Lebanon and other Moslem countries.

To assume that a person is bad because he is of Arab decent and has an Arab name would be to say that all Welsh men with the name of Jones are wonderful singers.

Unless they got their name changed to Godhatesfags or something else to that effect, I wouldn't take their name into consideration.

Using the poll option I chose.

No, why?

Please explain to me why someones name should matter.
Now, someones name might be used to politically hammer them, by an opponent.....but I see no reason why I should want to choose a president or any other elected official solely or even partially because of their name.

The name matters because the general voting public is stupid. There was a CNN piece about a month ago where they went around the streets of New York asking people if Barack Obama was a threat to the United States. There were a number of people who said yes and blamed him for attacking us on 9/11. With stupidity like that, why do you think Fox News makes sure to mention that Obama's middle name is Hussein every chance they get?

Because Bill O'Reiley and Geraldo Rivera are morons. What do I win? :)

Re: Poll should ask...

will you admit you are a moron?

You know, I do some stupid sh**t round these here parts, but...

Moron? Would that be Hatuey, Jamesrage, or both.

I don't think it is a stupid poll considering NP's topic on Barack Hussein Obama the "potential terrorist".

Why don't you go insult Navy for a bit? What would your price be for a hit job?

I voted maybe, it would depend what the name is and the situation this country is in..........

For example if it was during WW2 I would not vote for anyone for president by the name of Hitler or Tojo but that is just me...........

I think if you liberals were honest with yourself you would vote maybe too but since your holier then thou and feel good liberals I expect you all to vote no.........

The answer is no. Why wouldn't you vote for someone for president named Hitler or Tojo, if they were the best candidate for the job? Why shouldn't people vote for someone whose middle name is Hussein, if they think he's the best candidate for the job?

Well, I don't know what stigma "Tojo" has in Japan, but in this country if anybody went to adulthood with the name "Hitler" and decided to keep his name, I'd see that as a bit of a warning sign.

Actually the title of the thread had nothing to do with Hussein Obama's name.............It was titled: Islamic exhortations to violence defended

You Liberals changed it when I mention Hussein Obama.........

If you don't know the answer to that I don't know what to tell you.....I can only surmise that you would have voted for a Hitler or Tojo during WW2......Knowing you that does not surprise me........
