This came up in another thread and made me want to post a poll. No one can see your vote so you can be honest.

I would drive someone I liked or cared for to vote no matter what their political preference. It's who the person is not who they're voting for.

If I had to drive someplace to vote, I would give someone a ride so long as they didn't really give off like serial-murder vibes.

But since my State isn't ass-backwards and ****ing retarded, we have a very good mail-in system. So I don't have to.

Your thread title fits my Debate Politics signature perfectly. Yes, of course I would drive someone to the other side - put the stick in drive gear, not reverse! And of course make a left turn at the first intersection. You will drive on a road with No Right Turns and No U-Turns signs.

Sure .. Why wouldn't one want to assist a stranger to participate to their moral duty to vote? I pick up strangers on the side of the road often and it usually ends in really good conversation on a variety of topics.

I would not. Elections are not a video game, a class in college or attending a religious service.

The question is no different than would you bring a stranger who is the enemy in war to the battle front so they can go to the other side to try to then kill you. Elections are non-violent, non-destructive revolution and war.

Anyone who would bring a stranger to a poll to cancel their own vote is someone who doesn't give a damn about government or reality - but instead live in some non-existence goodness fantasyland in their head.

I would drive someone I knew regardless of who they were voting for.

I usually don’t make it a habit of giving strangers rides though I have picked up stranded people a couple times in the distant past. So I know I wouldn’t give a stranger a ride to the polling place regardless of who they were voting for.

But, the question is, would you drive a stranger to vote for the other side.

Only if they were wearing a Biden button. Then I would drop them off on the other side of town.

I wouldn’t drive a stranger anyway, that’s crazy.

I guess there are different ways of interpreting the word stranger. I was referring to someone you may vaguely know or the friend or relative of someone you vaguely know or maybe some elderly person in your apartment complex put up a note asking for a driver. Maybe you do charity work and came across someone who asked you for a ride. The question also stipulates that you know already that this person will vote for the other side.

Somewhere in there I believe you said no, you would not drive someone to vote for the other side.

What was this other thread?

Why? Do you think I was lying? I don't remember what thread it was. It was an exchange I had with a lefty poster in another thread. If it is that important to you I'm sure you can find it.

Depends on how hot she is

Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

To be honest, I don't think anyone is that hot. Take AOC for instance, I guess she isn't bad looking but I can't get past her being so disgusting. I would tell her that I was driving her to the polling station but I would play New York City cab driver until the polls closed.

I've had some bad experiences picking up strangers on the road, not horrible, but ones where I really regretted it. I picked up this one couple once who needed a ride. I think their car was broken down and they spent the entire time telling me about some unscrupulous porn place they ran, sort of like one of those adult bookstores that had some action on the side. It was pretty creepy. Then there was another time I saw a broken down car on the highway with a guy next to it with his thumb out. I felt compelled to pick him up to help. Turns out he was an extremely weird drunk hitchhiker guy who purposely stood by a broken down car so and idiot like me would pick him up. He was VERY weird and drunk and he seemed to want to stay in my car and not get out anywhere.
