I would have had to stop at a telephone booth and that didn't seem like a good idea. It was just before cell phones came out. But like I said, if I couldn't lose them, then I would drive to the nearest police station. I could usually lose them but one guy followed me right up to the police parking lot and then drove off. It was late at night and I couldn't see his license plate in my rear view mirror and i couldn't get a good look at him to make a report. But in those days, the police didn't give a **** about rapes and domestic abuse anyway, so you were on your own.Why didn't you call for police assistance?
