Apparently, a supermajority of Americans think that Putin would not have invaded Ukraine if Trump was President. Do y'all agree?

That’s not the bragging point you think it is. Trump would be destroying NATO for him.

I never said it was a bragging point.

And, the Left opposed NATO's existence for decades because it ceased to be a defensive alliance after the fall of the Soviet Union and since then it became an offensive organization to spread into the eastern bloc.

Jeremy Corbyn wants it disbanded - https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/jeremy-corbyn-calls-for-nato-to-be-disbanded-jg7kcmmq8

The Socialists want it disbanded - https://www.socialistpartyusa.net/no-to-war-in-ukraine-22422

It was not a controversial idea to disband it in the past: https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2014/9/3/nato-the-alliance-that-should-have-been-dissolved (That's from 2014)

NATO: The alliance that should have been dissolved

NATO backing the Ukrainian military is about as sensible as Russia’s support for paramilitary forces

Russia’s disrespect for Ukrainian sovereignty has captivated the Western media for months. The focus on Moscow’s bullish behaviour has, however, obscured both NATO’s recent attempts of joining the Ukrainian proxy war and its long-term strategy of Eastern expansion. The upcoming summit in Wales is only the most recent reminder that NATO should have been disbanded long ago.

Western journalists and think tankers are increasingly telling us that Russia is re-creating a bipolar order in Europe. The Kremlin’s support for separatists in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine has sparked accusations that Russia is breathing new life into a confrontation that Europe thought to have overcome 25 years ago. Yet, while both the 2008 Russo-Georgian war and the Kremlin’s involvement in the 2014 Ukrainian civil war show that Russia is an important source of regional instability, it is not the only one. Western commentators often reduce NATO’s involvement in Ukraine to that of a passive bystander, but such a view is highly misleading.

Yes.

Anyone who knows anything about the US government, knows that the president is just one person, among many, who in many ways, lacks the authority to act unilaterally.

Its why the dem argument about Trumps "finger on the button" was bullshit.

All the POTUS needs is the SECDEF to concur. All the shuffling in the Defense Dept. didn’t lend itself to stability!

I think he would have. He is determined to establish his leagacy, grow the Russian empire and reinstate Russia a world power. I also believe Trump would sit back and let it happen.

Not sure how Trump being president would change anything.

I say maybe.

Trump was certainly no friend to Putin, but neither was he inclined to continue the Globalist's use of Ukraine as their money laundering service.

But keep in mind that Trump told Putin that Moscow would be bombed if Putin invaded Ukraine.

Tell you what...make Trump President again and see what happens instead of engaging in useless speculation.

It wasn't bullshit. To say that there was a prevention mechanism between Trump and the Button is like saying that your shoe is a prevention mechanism between your foot and the gas pedal. What ultimately saved us wasn't the fabled Adults In The Room, but the fact that he was just as scared of nuclear war as the rest of us.

Who was in office had little to do with this decision.

LOL, the "adults in the room." More like the retirees in Countryside Acres in the room.

Trump would have saved Ukraine from all the death and destruction the country is now suffering because he would have further weakened NATO and not be the leader to rally Euro countries to lend defense to Ukraine as Biden has done. It's Biden's fault for all Ukraine's suffering for getting them what they need to survive as a sovereign nation. Trump would have let Putin into Ukraine without supporting any resistance from Ukraine, thus saving Ukraine from all this suffering and putting Ukraine under Russia's wing.

Vote Republican.

Trump admired and envied/envies Putin. He's called him 'savvy' and a 'genius' many times.

He admires Putin's tough guy act, and he likes it when Putin punishes and/or kills his critics. Trump tried to imitate Putin's 'dictator for life' by stealing the election in 2020..

So yeah, Putin would have definitely attacked the Ukraine, no doubt. Hell, Trump would have probably got us out of NATO to make it easier for Putin.

oh sure.....a dictator from the KGB with nuclear weapons and a million man army is going to pay any attention to a man who raw dogs porn stars.....the only people who believe this are your 'supermajority'.......

Yeah, majority being the ones voting for Trump... Intelligence not required....

It is quite clear that Putin considers Trump to be weak. He gave Putin the victory in Syria. Not something Putin would ever do, hence weak...

Yes he would have and yes he would have counting on Trump "giving" him the Ukraine, which off course Trump would have done.

He would be running (In a golf cart) interference!
It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see Trump's deference to Putin and his reaction to the invasion and conclude that sending billions in aid and military hardware to Ukraine wouldn't have been his first impulse.

True, but not for the reason you want it to be. With tRump destroying NATO for him there would have been no need. Also he would have been busy meddling over here and have no time for Ukraine.

The way NATO alliance and EU react to this invasion is almost......................comical!
Lol - even quite recently, they're still sanctioning! This time, PUTIN'S DAUGHTERS! :ROFLMAO:

You'd think they'd gone through all the sanctioning at this late stage in the game! It should've STARTED WITH PUTIN'S FAMILY!

The allaince is throwing all these billions of dollars and military equipments into an eventually losing war!
This is being done when their economies are in tatters!
What happens when Russia eventually invades all of Ukraine? What happens to those billions and military equipments you sent?
SHADES OF AFGHANISTAN......all over again! But this time, Russians are not as stupid as the taliban or who the heck got those equipments left in Afghanistan.
Russians will know how to use them!

If these pathetic alliances don't want to get involved - then, stay out! COMPLETELY!
Lol - you can't say you don't want to get wet while you got your feet dipped in the water!

The sooner Ukraine surrenders, the sooner Ukrainians will accept their fate................... and, the sooner the killings will stop!
