“God Bless America” used to be just one of many patriotic songs . . .
but after 9/11 it became a standout anthem that’s still popular ..
Question is .. has God really blessed America . . . or abandoned it? . . . . continue

Excuse me dadman,but what exactly do you mean by "God" ?


I'm a Taoist and consider "God"(The Tao) to be a "Sublime and Subtle Unified Force That Contains Both Life and Consciousness That Underlines And Encompasses All Of Reality" rather than a "Supernatural Being That Rules This Universe".

And The Tao doesn't abandon anything,it is everything.

If you think that your particular religion is the only way someone can achieve love, joy, or internal peace, you're not as caring, forgiving, or understanding as your religion says you should be. You really think someone cannot be happy without Jesus? So, none of the billions of non-Christians experience internal peace or love? Not one Jew or Muslim experiences love?

Eternal life being possible banks entirely on whether your religious beliefs are accurate, something you don't have proof of by definition. (or else they wouldn't call it faith!) It's entirely possible that the afterlife is a myth and that this is all you get.

As far as America is concerned, your own religion says God wouldn't abandon us because he is always forgiving, right?
