Never in my life have I seen such a concerted effort to destroy one man than what started in November 2016 and lasted until he left office. Elected officials and bureaucrats sold themselves out to get him out of office - ethics went out the window. Ethics in journalism - gone. Ethics in law enforcement, gone - and the entire intelligence machine lined up against Trump. Gingrich achieved the first Republican majority in 50 years but after the honeymoon was over he wasn't able to herd the sheep. Paul Ryan as it turned out was one of the sheep. Trump from outside of the congress is demanding and getting party discipline and when the Republicans take the house it will be the Trump America First MAGA party. There will be few republican sheep left and those that make it past 2022 will be endangered in 2024.
The new Republican majority will be about stopping Biden and growing the majority in 2024. Speaker Trump would be too easy for the Democrat media to demonize.
