The Mail on Sunday has obtained the final draft of a report to be published later this month by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the ultimate watchdog whose massive, six-yearly ‘assessments’ are accepted by environmentalists, politicians and experts as the gospel of climate science.
They are cited worldwide to justify swingeing fossil fuel taxes and subsidies for ‘renewable’ energy.
Yet the leaked report makes the extraordinary concession that over the past 15 years, recorded world temperatures have increased at only a quarter of the rate of IPCC claimed when it published its last assessment in 2007.

At this point it is best to wait and dissect the actual report when it comes out.
I would not be too surprised if they try and paint the models in as good a light as possible.

My wish would be that even if this 'science' is found to be fraudulent that we, as a people, continue to make this world a better than we found it but, without all the burdensome taxes and economy killing regulation.

Of course you would, and that is what the NIPCC report is all about. As I noted in Excerpts from the leaked AR5 Summary for Policy Makers there doesn’t appear to be a single climate skeptic involved, so getting a second opinion is the role this NIPCC reports fills. I don't like the title of that article - computers got it wrong? More like the people programming the computers got it wrong. GIGO.

While I'm not surprised that the science was mostly wrong (because, lets face it, it's big business and billions tied up in the Global Warming meme for Universities, Scientists and grants, jobs, politics, and industry) but it's a little more complicated than fossil fuels = man made global warming. There are natural phenomena at work beyond our control, beyond our influence to change and probably beyond our understanding - but we're getting better. The other part is the propaganda to try and filter through which is equally as distasteful and difficult as the science. So many people peddling their own brand of truth for their own purposes.

While commonly poo-poo'd over the past 5 years, the solar activity of the past 100 years is interesting and while the article still clings to the very small amount of influence the lack of solar activity affects our planet, weather and temperature, I'm sure there are things we don't yet know.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm suggesting because coal plants (edit: and other major industrial sites) never did any of that **** until we forced them to. It hurts the bottom line, you see.

Interestingly enough, one of the most successful programs we've had for reducing certain types of industrial pollution was conceived and implemented by Republicans. Our current political climate (teehee) precludes us from expanding on such a program, though. We literally are too stupid and too evil.

Yes, I know, but capturing those emissions means it goes into a giant pond instead of spit into the atmosphere. Which is still a terrible idea compared to nuclear power, but it's better.
Not all biofuels are actually in competition with the food supply, but I agree that corn ethanol was a dumb idea from the start. It takes more energy to produce than it generates. How is that not a show stopper right there? It only works out economically (sortof) because we subsidize the crap out of corn. (yet another stupid regulation)

Stupid "environmental" regulations exist. That does not mean all such regulations are stupid.
