Well summers over here and the mornings are chilly so it's wood stove cookin time. I don't know why but food just taste better cooked like this.

A wood stove used to get you rated in my area. I understand it now gets your insurance canceled.

I think it's the dry heat or something but it really does cook better.

I got a woodstove last year, and haven't yet learned how to cook on it, but I am still running the ac 24 hr/day. It probably won't be cool enough for the stove until Dec. That sounds like fun.

Once you start cooking on a wood stove you will love it and look forward to the first morning in winter you start a fire like a kid looks forward to Christmas. What kind did you get? Got a pic?

I don't know why but food just taste better cooked like this.

I'd say it's because the cast iron surface gives more consistent heat.

Good point, consistent and you can slide the pan around to control the heat with precision once you get the feel of your stove.

Vermont Castings Aspen model. It is just a small cast iron stove, but plenty for my small house.

yeah, I have really been impressed with it so far. Woodstoves aren't easy to find around this part of the country. Very few choices.

It is the difference between the air, just like frying with a pan outdoors versus indoors. Wood burning changes the air just like any medium that is why some argue over what TYPE of wood is best tasting.
