I don't usually pay much attention to celebrities but I find the Meghan Markle/Prince Harry situation fascinating.

The excuse they gave for ditching the UK was intrusive media yet they immediately launched a series of 'look at me' ventures in the New World.

Originally intending to make Vancouver, British Columbia their new home they abandoned that plan when they learned the RCMP would not be providing free security.

Meghan routinely trends on Twitter and not for positive reasons. Everything she does on her Netflix series 'With Love, Meghan' is ravaged for its vacuus content and propensity for stealing other people's material.

Who better to review the 2nd season than the famously acerbic British press, in this case Lucy Mangan of The Guardian.

So painfully contrived that it’s genuinely fascinating.

I don't subscribe to Netflix anyway, but I couldn't be bothered even to hate-watch "WLM." No need; there are plenty of short clips and lots of analysis. Without seeing more than that, I've seen enough--the hair extensions hanging into the food, the wearing of white to cook pasta in a borrowed kitchen (<snicker> as you do), the inability to even hold a knife correctly, the recycling of Pinterest ideas from the '90's....

Re ratings, the show is a flop, but who is surprised?
 
How sad they've come to this. Maybe they need a smaller, cheaper house if this is the only way to cover expenses. I don't follow their doings, so it's a shock.
 
In saying I am entirely uninterested in Meghan or her Netflix show, that may not be strong enough.

To some degree I get all the drama with the Royal Family but this sort of thing would be painful to watch.
 
I liked her in Suits. Haven't watched any of her reality stuff since.

I don't think they live there (or even together), but they need tons of money to maintain Monteshitshow. It's a money pit.

The Queen gave them a Grade II listed home to live in that comes with security, housekeeping staff and nanny. They both received a salary for arduous tasks such as ribbon cutting.

So having them around contributes to the local economy, as long as the local economy isn't the British taxpayers.

Windsor Castle definitely stimulates the local economy. It's one of the most popular attractions in England.
 
It's sad that Harry, who could have actually contributed to society, got involved with Meghan and now they are nothing but attention whores.

Also tragic is how he continues to feast on the corpse of his mother and harm her legacy. Let the poor woman rest in peace. How he treated his dying grandparents was disgraceful, and his stolen valor makes me sick. I think Harry is quite lucky to be living in the century he is; historically, problematic siblings have been...dealt with far more harshly.

Meh I wasn't a fan. His grandmother's legacy is to have reigned for 70 years without complaining.

His mother never stopped complaining. He apparently takes after her.

I remember buying French roast coffee beans in some small shop, after visiting the castle.
If course, like most tourists, I had to inspect one of the guards closely. Those guys don't move a muscle or change facial expression. Must be the ultimate poker players.

Harry wore a Nazi uniform to a costume party when he was younger. But he's 40 and was blitzed and banging on London doors looking for friends (or "friends" with "party favors") in the middle of the night very recently. And with all his paranoid demands for special security, he was all by himself too.
