As Federalist Society judges, they are deeply involved in the world of right-wing think tanks - not just FS but almost certainly other conservative activist causes as well. I get the feeling that they're part of some kind of 'restoration' or counter-revolution. If they have to abuse the emergency docket so they can rewrite decades of court doctrine to give the president the latitude he needs to establish an imperial presidency, they're on board.
