Started today and already a shock exit for Nadal in the 1st round, should open up the draw nicely for Murray. Is this his year?

It seems like if Nadal doesn't like the surface he doesn't care as much.

he cares he just isn't as strong as he was, the way he plays is destroying his knee. walked into Wimbledon with no grass play and was always going to struggle

Crazy day 3, several big names pulled out through injury and a couple of shock exits. In the mens now there is no Tsonga, Fed, Nadal leavign only Andy Murray left from the top seeds in that side of the draw. Can't beleive Fed went out felt like an end of an era

with Federer losing his nerve, Jo Willy getting Gulbused, and Rafa's knee failing him maybe rat boy can repeat his gold medal. Of course the obvious favorite remains in ND

the porno tape has died with Shriekapova and Azaranter both going out today. Maybe one of the young Americans can challenge those Serena is looking even better

Gulbis might be a dark horse. he has as much talent as the three other big underperformers (Jo Willy, Gasquet and Monfeils)

another guy to watch out for is that huge serving canadian boy Raonic-he looks to play big hitting Del Potro in a few

Tommy Haas has a good game for grass but he gets ND in a few

the lower bounce is tough on sore knees-hard courts beats them up but you have to bend more on grass

Nadal has had a good year so far once he came back. lets see if he can win one of the prime hard court events-be it Canada, Cincinnati if not the open. but like THomas Muster 20 years ago, he has only one gear and that gear burns up the engine

It looks like Maria was not only outplayed but OUTGRUNTED AS WELL as another Bolletieri trained howler took her down

I was sad to see her go. She's usually very competitive and fun to watch. A lot of my favorite tennis players are out actually. :/

Something not right at Wimbledon this year. Far far too many players having to withdraw due to injuries gotten on the grass. Players falling all over the place. When 7 players have to withdraw in one day... then you have to ask the tough questions... because that is not normal.

none of the players left have complained about the surface, just one of those things.

Boris Becker thinks he should quit Grass all together

maybe so-he doesn't need to prove anything-he won it twice and its his worst surface. the other greats, Federer, Sampras, ND (who might get it), McEnroe, Connors, and Borg were never able to win twice on their worst surface (Clay, Clay, Clay, Clay, Clay, HardCourt)

you see any other final right now other than Novak vs Murray?

that is the captain obvious pick but

Big Bird has the power and the shots to beat ND

Raonic of canada losing was sort of a stunner today

Gasquet is another guy who has the shotmaking ability and the talent but like the other talented "frogs" (GM and JWT) he's a bit light in the grit department

In ND side, Lopez has a big serve and could possibly cause him troubles as does the rejuvenated Tommy Haas Gasquet and Big Bird are the two most serious challengers on the top half of the draw until he gets to Del Potro who proved his talent on these courts at the Olympics

on Rat boy's side of the draw

Almagro is dangerous and Meltzer has had some success on grass winning the doubles there a few years ago but he is not the player he was then

Gulbis has all the shots-but his brain is the big hold up. If he had the mentality of say Michael Chang or Aaron Krickstein he'd have won 5 majors even though this era has had more big time champions than any other time

Murray has an easier path than ND and is probably fresher after skipping the French

that epic battle ND had with Rafa had to take something out of him

I don't think Murray will have a problem with his side of the draw he's a much more aggressive player now and has the crowd, Gasquet however could give Novak a few problems. Look out for young Laura Robson in the womens draw she could have a big Wimbledon.

Lets hope so

she's really cute too

Or Eugenie Bouchard. Martina Navratilova gushed that she will win a grand slam soon. Interesting.

she's very athletic and tall. but she got stomped by a dirt ball player from Spain, Suarez Navarro: a player she should have beaten on this surface

I am pulling for Robson (better legs) but the Brits cheering when her Kiwi opponent double faults is poor form. show some class you limey bastards:mrgreen:

edit, Robson wins the second set on a double fault-you'd think she just smashed back a 100 MPH overhead with all applause

so much for Serena as the big hitting but sometimes non-mobile Lisicki blasts her in three sets. Li Na is looking good as she obliterated cute Italian doubles ace Vinci. Brittish Hottie Robson gets drilled by Estonia's greatest lady player and Rat boy crushes Youzhny while ND beats 35 year old veteran Tommy Haas

Big Bird is quietly cruising along-dispatching Australian Tomic as is big hitting De Potro who took out Italy's top player Seppi in three sets. Spain still has men in the draw as Verdasco wins three 6-4 sets over De SChepper and the human backboard #4 seed David Ferrer beats Dodig. the current dark horse favorite might be huge hitting J Janowicz of Poland who beat talented but erratic power hitter Dolgopolov (his acceleration in his serve is amazing) in five (though the last two sets were rather one sided)

Sloane Stevens won in three and underappreciated former champion Kvitova is still very much alive

With Nadal and Federer out of the way, this may be Djokovic's year.

I was stunned to see Serena eliminated.

yeah that was a stunner

ND has two very dangerous men in his half

former finalist and uber power hitter "the Big Bird" of the Czech republic. a top ten player for many years, this guy can beat anyone if he's hot

and if Del Potro can harness the shotmaking skills he used to beat federer after being two down at the US Open a few years ago, he can beat anyone and while this is grass he came close to doing that the Olympics

I doubt Verdasco can beat Rat boy but the J2, Big serving pole-who should get by his countryman Kubot, might have a few aces up his sleeves to beat down Andy with. Andy's got lots of confidence, he's on a winning streak at the grass courts of his home country after taking gold last year

Id love seeing hard luck former world #1 Junior Kirsten Flipkens take out the goddess of weird, marion bartoli the shadow stroking perpetual motion French #1. Radwanska-the cleverest player will be playing the biggest power hitter-hard to say how that goes AW has the ranking but SL has Serena's scalp hanging on her belt

I'd love to see the Bryan brothers win-their last major loss was here in the semis last year. since then they took the Gold Medal, the US OPEN, AUSTRALIA and the French. They are the best ever and holding five majors (counting the olympics) at one time would put icing on that cake
