The Dems wanted a bipartisan health care bill back when the ACA was in congress. The bill they were proposing was based on previous GOP plans. The Dems spent a year allowing the GOP to make changes to the bill with the GOP always saying that if you want our votes you will do as we ask. In the end the ACA included 188 GOP amendments and even dropped the public option. There was even a work group make up of 3 dems and 3 GOPers. One of those GOPers went back told his constituents told them his whole plan was to try and keep the ACA from ever becoming law no matter what. In the end the Dems got exactly one GOP vote. Now we have the Covid Relieve Bill. I guess I see the Gop doing the same thing to this as they did to the ACA. As long as the wealthy keep getting wealthier, It would seem the GOP really does not care about the rest of the nation. They were more than willing to increase the deficit to give a huge tax cut to the wealthy, but relieve to the rest of us, no way. And this year begins the increase in taxes for those making less than 75 grand. Another way of screwing the little guys in this country.

They will certainly try. Now it's up to Democrats as to if they are going to let Lucy keep pulling the football away or if they are going to realize that the Republicans aren't interested in giving Biden and Democrats anything that looks like a victory. Their goal is to delay and water down the bill to the point that it won't be effective, at which point they'll then announce they can't vote for it anyways.
