Russia seeks Indian investment in its oil and gas sector

Indian state run companies already are one of the large invsestors in the Russian oil and gas sector, and India imports some gas and oil from Russia, and there are many other economic ties. Russia now turns to India for help. Will they get it? I think unfortunately the answer might be: yes.

Especially since Russia now is forced to sell at a discount. Getting raw materials cheaper is often a strong incentive.

India could buy discount oil from Russia

Good that you have noticed that Russia , China , India and Iran dwarf the US and western Europe .

New times . New Empire .

Much of Africa , Brazil etc to also join .

Except India and China are always at each others throat, and no, they can't replace the lucrative Western market. India is interested exactly because Russia is forced to sell far below market price, which means Russia is selling at a loss.

how ? pipelines or LNG ?

how ? pipelines or LNG ?
LNG, they have been discussing a pipeline for years, but considering building a pipe from Russia to India would be a hard thing ,the "straightforward" route through China isn't politically feasible and also Himalayas, and a route through Central Asia would have to go via Pakistan, which is also politically impossible, LNG is really where it's going to stay.

I think they actually use both. India is not buying that much Russian gas normally, they for example tend to buy more from Qatar.
