This is for people who do usually celebrate Thanksgiving. Will you be switching it up this year thanks to the virus? Maybe you’re staying home when you usually travel or you’ll just celebrate with those in your household or heck, maybe you’re participating in a larger gathering than normal . My plans are the same, but then we don’t have large extended family gatherings anyway.

My wife always cooks and we have various people over depending on who is around and plans of others. Only the 4 of us this year. My brother and his family came last year along with a friend of my daughters. My daughter also just had foot surgery, no need to get Covid on top of being on crutches.

Yes, we are scaling it down tremendously.

No. My family understands that 2020 is an abnormal year, and COVID is already no stranger.

We'll celebrate the traditional Thanksgiving meal sometime in 2021 post vaccine.

Sadly, yes. It will just be immediate family, and the number of pies will be reduced from like 7 to 3

Good idea. I think the vaccine will give us all something to be thankful for.

For the most part, this should be pretty much like the last several Thanksgivings for my family. My inlaws live in an inlaws suite/apartment on our house and we really don't have much other family over (maybe a couple others from one other place, probably not coming this year though).

However, since my uncle is in the hospital, in critical condition and we don't know what will happen with him, I put that I don't know right now. Things may change only in that my family may be contacting more and ... we will have to see.

Thanksgivings are usually small. I live close to my daughter and her family so I always go there. My other two children are farther away and celebrate with other family. Christmas is when we all get together. That holiday will be affected.

My home has always been the primary gathering place for my family. This will be the first time it’s not and it’s due to Covid. This is going to be very weird especially since my granddaughter just gave birth to my first great grandson and it would give us an opportunity to be thankful (together) for that in itself. I don’t like it but it’s what it is.

Just with household members and a son visiting from college. He will be tested about a week before Thanksgiving. Hopefully that's enough. I can't imagine it "incubating" for a full 2 weeks before symptoms show, but we'll be doing the whole social distancing and mask routine.

We specifically had reservations to take a short trip and have dinner in a restaurant and an overnight hotel stay, but opted to cancel and stay home.

Yes, we'll be changing plans this year. Usually we celebrate with my wife's extended family. The large family gathering was canceled this year so we're celebrating with my parents, my sister, and her husband instead. My grandparents might come as well, they're not sure yet.

So I really have a hard time with words/letters sort of blending together when I read sometimes. I read the above as "...Usually we celebrate with my ex-wife's extended family."

No because were always group of five with four of us living together anyway. I have a twin coming in from the outside but don't want to say anything to cause issues.

My daughter said I should still make pies. Apple and Sweet Potato.

Our original plan was to fly to Portland OR and spend Thanksgiving with our daughter. Since that won’t be happening we’ll be home and will Zoom with her.

I'll have to pretend that i complained that mom's stuffing was terrible instead of actually doing it.

We're trying to do a zoom conference with everyone on it. I think some of the old ones might take it hard.

But it's better to social distance than to go to a funeral.

We usually have a big celebration with all the kids, grandkids and other family and friends but not this year. Everyone is staying home with their own families. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. It is a lot of work to pull off a big meal and have the house company ready but in the end it was worth it for family and friends to come together.

So this year it will be just be the two of us. Not fixing a turkey, onion celery dressing, whipped potatoes, gravy, orange glazed sweet potatoes with toasted pecans, green bean casserole, cranberries, yeast rolls and butter. No pumpkin, apple, or chocolate cream pie. Instead we will burn a couple of nice ribeyes on the grill, baked potatoes, asparagus, sautéed onions and mushrooms, rolls and lemon meringue pie. I usually decorate at least the front porch for Fall/Thanksgiving. Not this year. Not in the mood.

Normally the daughters and their +1s.

Not this year.

I was a career Marine and deployed more often than not during the holidays so we will do as we have done. Agree to a date other than traditional and celebrate then. Often our Christmas was celebrated weeks if not months from the original date.

It's not the date. It's the kin getting together.

CV19 has been a wrecking ball in my state due to incompetent leadership, so no Thanksgiving gathering for us.
