And even if they were able to come up with a body count anywhere close to the top killer blue states would it ever really be a fair comparison since these killer blue states were able to kill so many
so quickly ?
Will any red state ever be able to match the blue states covid killer death rates.

What do Russia's numbers look like? Has it surpassed the poisoning of dissidents numbers yet?

Fortunately it's really only NY that has the rate no other will likely catch up to given current rates. New Jersey's might not either, and I hope it stays that way, but other states do have over 10K deaths that are both red and blue.

This dumb **** **** again.

Do people not understand that -

1) the infection rate early in the pandemic is likely to be higher because we know little about the virus and how it is transmitted,

2) the death rate early in a pandemic is likely to be significantly higher because we know little about the virus and how to treat it,

3) big, crowded cities are ripe for transmission of airborne pathogens,

4) most big cities are run by democrats.

What’s truly astounding is that states that had a example of what to do and not do in NY, NJ, CA etc still managed to step on their dicks.

And comparing NY's rates to the rates of the states that got it later is not a fair thing to do seeing a lot of the Deaths in NY were back in March, Apr, and beginning of May, back when they still didn't know just what to do or what NOT to do and the death rate in the southern states now is AFTER states like NY and the states of the NE figured out what to do
It is too bad some people can't figure that out
NY had no example of what to do like most all the states did after they figured out what to do
and there are a lot of people that can't seem to give these states the credit they deserve for figuring out what to do
Have a nice day

I think the one area NY's response was completely bungled was returning infected seniors to nursing homes. There was enough information available even at that point to know that was a daft thing to do. Remember, we had information from Italy, Iran, and China fairly early on to get a sense of how quickly it could spread. What is definitely fair critiquing of the states impacted now, is why they didn't take a more cautious approach to prevent the wide scale spread they've witnessed.

Being as not as many are major ports of entry, nor as populated or as crowded, nor as wintry, it is less likely. But those attempting to ignore the virus are doing their best to catch up.

What's wrong with you? Death rates by political affiliation?

Who knows? The way we are going here Florida might have 2.7 million cases and 15,000 + deaths before this is all over. If we don't it won't be for lack of trying. We opened schools in Florida today and the positivity rate of children is over 14% in the State. What could go wrong?

The department also confirmed the positivity rate among children increased from 13.4 percent on July 16 to 14.4 percent on July 24. Five children have died so far following infection, including a nine-year-old girl, Kimora "Kimmie" Lynum, who died earlier this month, becoming the state's youngest person to die from the virus. She had no known underlying conditions, according to her family.

well for one thing a lot of people don't know is the people that were sent to Nursing homes were suppose to be recovered from it and the other thing ( and this is what didn't happen ) the Nursing homes were to keep anybody returning to them or going there the first time separate from all of the regular people in the Nursing home
and YES there were mistakes like this that were made and Como admitted they was and took responsibility for those mistakes
the thing is these all happened back before there was a lot of knowledge on the subject . maybe as I have said over and over again there would not have been as many cases or deaths in the NE if there was an example of what to do and what not to do, but there wasn't and the states in the NE ( mostly NY ) had to figure it out themselves
and now that there are examples of what to do and what not to do other states SHOULDN'T have any where near the numbers NY had
Have a nice afternoon

It is a shame of the discussion of blue vs red. Are we not the United States? Some must want it to continue so we can dived the country more than it is. Congress is already so partisan.

Daddy Trump taught them right from the start that this is a Democrat hoax, it's like the flu and it's really only likely to hurt the libtard blue states.
It is all proceeding according to Trump's plan.

And of course, the virus is proceeding according to ITS plan.

Dead Confederates CV19.jpg

And I will never forget, not even on my dying day, how ignorant, cruel, merciless and hate filled Trumpers have been to the rest of the country about this pandemic. No forgiveness here remains.

Well, I do feel there was enough information available to decide on how to respond aggressively; what there wasn't was the will to do so. If you take South Korea as an example, they went into full prevention/contact tracing mode when there were 4 cases in the entire country; I just don't think this could have been replicated here given the social dynamics. I do agree that states which surged in Jun/Jul could have managed it much better had they learned the lessons in the northeast. A slow reopening would likely have led to much smaller spikes.

Also when NYC was first being infected no one knew what was going on because there weren’t enough tests available.

And btw as regards the mass grave - that pic is taken at Hart Island which has served as NYC’s Potter’s Field (a burial site for unclaimed bodies) since the 1970s. There are over 1,000,000 people interred there.

The Covid victims buried there, like every other person who’s buried at Hart are people whose bodies were unclaimed. Grandma isn’t buried there and given it’s use you cannot assume those coffins are all Covid patients or even when the photo was taken.

So stop saying dumbass stuff.

NJ (1796 deaths/million population) is already worse than NY (1690).

Strange that "nothing was known of COVID" applies to New York but doesn't apply to Trump's handling of it at the same "when"....

I think the point is that there wasn't much known about the Colvid in the beginning and with Trump saying one thing and the WHO and CDC saying something else , ( conflicting info ) Governors in states didn't know what to do,
Maybe instead of telling people things like it is just 1 person, then 15 people, then it is just going to go away , it is under control,
Trump had found out something about it there wouldn't have been so much conflicting info out there
but no he told us a bunch of lies , he didn't know what he was talking about and then on top of it he belittles and demeans the people that did know a little about it ( the CDC ) and told people they had no idea what they are doing
when they are the ones that have been doing this stuff for years
Have a nice day

If people stop replying to this poster's stupid threads, he'll go away.

You do realize he obviously doesn't read anyone's replies and just posts idiotic stuff, right?

Will any red state ever be able to match the blue states ...

Unfortunately Texas and Florida deaths have already surpassed the numbers of deaths that Massachusetts or Michigan has.
