Wild end for Irwin: Killed in freak attack by stingray

It's all fun and games untill someone gets killed, then it's hilerious!

After all the Mad TV spoffs, it actualy happened: The Crododile hunter was killed by a stingray while filming, get this.."Ocian's Deadlyist"!

Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin’s fate - barbed to death by a stingray on the Great Barrier Reef - is a tragic and sobering reminder of the daily dangers of working with wildlife, South Shore native and fellow TV wildlife host Jeff Corwin said yesterday.

“It isn’t a lion or tiger or big monster predator. It was a fish, but it’s no less tragic,” said Corwin, speaking from Nome, Alaska, where he’s filming a segment on polar bears, one of the deadliest predators on Earth.

Irwin was filming a new series, “Ocean’s Deadliest,” his 8-year-old daughter’s upcoming TV program, yesterday when he disrupted the stingray and it went on the defensive, goring his heart with the poisonous barb on its tail. The attack was caught on tape which has been turned over to police.
