Why is it that if a Muslim or an LGBTQ member gets attacked we immediately call it a hate crime? Maybe, just maybe they were assholes who provoked an ass whopping.

Well clearly it's part of a UN conspiracy to feminize America by turning everyone into pansexual bi-romantic agender Sunni and destroy freedom.

It certainly has nothing to do with the fact that there is a history of hate crimes committed against LGBT and Muslim people in America. That can't be right.

Because the product of Victim Culture is victims, and someone attacked for reasons of group hate we have decided are Higher Quality Victims, so that is what we make....by assuming what we want to believe.


Now this is also leading a fantasy life, willfully, but we are AOK with that mostly.

Crimes get investigated then if it is determined that a hate crime was committed under a applicable hate crime law it is labeled that way. Pretty simple. Internet joes and jills can call a crime whatever they want to call it. Even if your scenario takes place it takes a pretty low person to physically attack someone for being obnoxious, irritating, drunk, or a fool. The best thing to do is walk away. Attacking a Muslim or LGBTQ person even if they are less than civil is a serious mistake because it may be labeled a hate crime. Attacking someone just because you think they were acting like an ass is not an excuse that lets you off the hook.

Imo labeling assault or a crime as hate is unnecessary. Assault is assault. It doesn't need an addition of the word hate.

You don't have to be apart of the LGBT community to have gay slurs thrown at you... Hell... It's how a lot of me and my guy friends greet each other.. Sup queer.. Whatcha doin fag. Etc.. Does that make us gay haters?

I'm not saying what happen to ol buddy wasn't ****ed up but they could have called him a bunch of **** without knowing he was actually gay.. But just cause he was and it was said now its a hate crime

... And Muslims are literally the worst at hate crimes... You ever seen what they do in the middle east to the LGBT community... No trials no hate speech just public torture an executions..

Is anybody remotely interested in what 'hate crime' status entails, what it does in a trial and what it requires as an evidentiary burden out of a prosecutor? It's just not as easy as proving a slur or two proceeded an attack on a member of a suspect or protected class.

Less hate crimes against Muslims in the U.S. then in Muslim countries, though, and infinitely more true if it was LGBTQ. That said, we are doing better but still have more to improve.

Were they targeted for being a Muslim or LGBTQ? If so, then it's a hate crime. If they were just attacked for w/e other reasons then it's not.

Perhaps because the victim isn't an "assholes who provoked an ass whopping [sic]."

Perhaps because the attacker is a hateful asshole who attacked someone because s/he hates Muslims/LGBTQ-ers and suspected his/her victim a Muslim or LGBTQ-er.

I'm glad I'm not one of your friends. It might not make you gay haters, it does however show your immaturity. What muslims do in the middle east does not mean they do it here in this country. You're painting with a very broad brush.

White males in business suits being assholes don’t provoke ass whoppings. Those around them walk away. The better question is why are there white Americans such as yourself in denial about ethnic and racial hate and the violence it induces.
