Why Your Parents Lied To You

How many times have you lied to your kids about anything and how many lies did your parents tell you and how many things will they never dare tell you?!

It wasn't my parents but when I want to catholic school the nuns told us we could get pregnant holding a boys hand.

I try to be open with my daughter. She is only five so I don't go into things too much but I want her to know that if anyone tries to do anything that is inappropriate with her that it is wrong and she needs to tell someone. I want her to have respect for herself and not make some of the mistakes I did because my mom never took the time to talk to me about dating and relationships.

I don't have kids. But my Mom lied to us all the time. She never did give me the scoop on where babies come out of on your body. Last she told me, it was the navel. Our cat that just disappeared? We suspected she got rid of it. My dog that disappeared? She gave it away, I found out. You couldn't believe anything she said. Some people lie. I don't.

Not sure I understand what you are getting at. Lies about what subject in particular? Since this is in the dating and relationships section, I'm guessing that you mean lies about sex?

LOL - I wouldn't know if they lied unless they tell me.

They've never said anything of the sort. I wish they would like about things like how much they didn't like my husband when I met him, and how much they'd wished I was religious. "We liked your boyfriend" and "It's okay if you're not religious," would be fabulous to hear.

Try finding a VCR tape hidden in your parents closet and being a kid thinking it was some kind of R rated movie they didn't want you to see, so of course you watch it. And let's just say I am still traumatized to this day. Oh god the horror of watching that!!!!!!

You made me laugh out loud AW..I remember going on a visit to the zoo with the nuns..It must have been Spring or something..because everything appeared to be humping...I kept laughing so Sister Bernadette kept dushing me round the back of the head!!

We went to see the lions..humping...

We went to see the monkeys..humping...buffalo's..humping..

In the end we went into the insect house...Bless me if the stick insects weren't humping as well..I was screaming with laughter and came out of the zoo looking like this....

The important things my father never lied to me but with some things he did but it was the fun things . My father told me and my siblings he was going to he doctors and brought us with him instead of the doctors he took us to a skating rink ( he latter explained the doctor was for after the skating and he broke his back )

couple that with Mom explaining to me that Dad was not hurting her when she was screaming at night, so i no longer needed to come knock on the door to inquire if she was alright
some things are best left alone

Actually I'd rather just wait and see how big of a hit the GOP takes for this unnecessary government shutdown which will hurt the economy but will not stop the Affordable Care Act.

My mother had 2 kids in quick succession at home..when we heard my first sister cry..we went in and wondered..the second time..we went in ...I said to my brother..''Oh no..it's another baby..where is she getting these from?''

I just got back from Mallorca..week in a hotel..we had a screamer in the next apartment..every night sounded like a porno film..In the end I got pissed..knocked the door and the woman opened it..I said ''Can you keep the noise down..nobody's that good!
