Why WTF Has Obama Done So Far Isn't Helping Obama

Last edited:
This criticism is pretty much spot on. He had the momentum and then lost it.

And how did that occur?

.

He didn't listen to anybody and tried to steer a moderate course resulting in a compromise that everyone hated.

Part of his problem is that he promised the moon and the stars while he was running. However, it's not entirely his fault that he didn't deliver. He promised a bi-partisan coalition that never happened. He's not entirely to blame for that. Republicans did gather together and vow to stop every single thing he wanted to do, just to make him unpopular. Frankly, Obama has done just fine. He's been level-headed, he hasn't done anything particularly extreme, on either side. He isn't an amazing leader, but he's not bad, either.

I call a president who stuffs national healthcare down everyone's throats a lousy leader.

And I support nationalized healthcare.

Did people really Expect him to be able to do all things he said he would do during his first term? Give me a break please:(

Look at Bush Jr. despite being a worse President than his father, he was a FAR better politician. He was able to get nearly all lawmakers behind him. I would argue, politically, GWB is the best president politician wise we have ever had.

this criticism is insane. the one thing obama does well is sell sunshine and moonbeams.

the reason what he's done isn't helping him is that it's exactly 'what he's done' that is hurting him.

whether it's Obamacare, the Stimulus, the Auto nationalization, the huge debt..... people do not like his policies.

then you've never heard of a man named Lyndon B Johnson.

as a politician, Bush scores below average

GWB had 9/11. That alone caused a huge amount of support for his policies no matter what they were

also he dragged the Republican part way left, domestically; as he was the President, it made it much harder for his own party to oppose.

Yes, there were many who did.

As well as many who called you "racist" if you suggested he couldn't.

When it comes to campaigning yeah, he is a very good politician, but naw his supporters believe his ability to sell things is his biggest flaw. George W Bush had 2 of the best political architects with more experience between the two of them politically than the Obama and rest of the GWB administrations combined; Dick Cheney and Karl Rove.

Its easy to sell sunshines and moonbeams when the pitch is its all for free and there are so many crippled and dependent pets looking for others to provide for them.

Still...I think where he lost his momentum is in the quality of the legislation. Health care? Sure...and the benefits MAY even kick in for the majority of recipients...in a few years...and dont worry about what the price tag will be. stimulus? SURE...we have (ahem) 'created' or SAVED a million jobs...jobs that were at risk because of lousy budget management. Sure...unemployment is as high as ever (and 'real' unemployment numbers arent even being discussed).

On the plus side...there are still the core kneejerk partisans that will swallow anything and ask for more...but that number is dwindling.

that, certainly, is true. any kind of experience at handling serious and difficult matters has not exactly been a demonstrated hallmark of the Obama Administration.

Reread my post; Karl Rove and Dick Cheney are professional liars, hence this makes them excellent politicans. When GWB and Rove helped Bush Sr's campaign, there were things that were downright dishonest and disgusting to him that he didn't want to be a part of in his run against Mike Dukakis. Karl Rove was actually fired from his second run for well, being a devious sneaky asshole and leaking info about a CIA agent.

But yes cpwill, what I am saying is the Obama adminstration isn't even half as good at lying and making a turd look like a diamond or a blossom..kind like ole "Turd Blossom".

1. He didn't need a repubican vote to pass his mess.

2. His idea of bipartisanship was to tell Republicans who they could and could not listen to during their first meeting together.

3. Hasn't done anything extreme? AIG, GM, spending trillions, ObamaKare... a bill passed without even being read.

Sorry, the guy's a major league idealogue and represents the Alinsky/Ayers/Reverand Wright wing of the Democrat Party.

It's why he got his ass kicked a few weeks ago. He is the King of bait-and-switch. Doesn't hurt to have a few thousand journOlists waving their pom-poms for you.

Take "Bush" out of the following, and it's as current as ever. We could put Obi or his presser Fibbs in the huddle.

Please name for me one prediction or legislation that has been accurate or made things better based upon the actual cost? Many here want to continue to blame Bush but it was the Obama policies that were rejected on Nov. 2 in historic proportions. Obama wanted the job, campaigned for the job almost from day one when he was elected to the Senate and since getting the job has done exactly what he said he would do but has generated the results that many of us said he would generate.

We had a recession that ended officially in June 2009 and yet today the key numbers, unemployment and debt are worse than any other President in U.S. history 17 months after the end of a recession. Supporters are saying give him more time as it takes more than two years to clean up the 8 years of Bush when the reality is the mess was created the last year of Bush with the help of the Democrat Congress including Obama. Economic numbers were strong between 2001-2007, a fact that liberals ignore.

Yeah, the standard Lib ploy... we need more time and more of YOUR money; instead of cutting our loses, closing failing programs and harmful depts. Obama is a failed program, and need be cut.

Obi's like a quarteback that looks good, talks as if he knows the game, but when it's time to line up we learn he doesn't know how to read the most simple defense, throws like a sissy and can't take a hit. In the real world he'd have been cut long ago, and be selling trinkets or some other BS on HMS... but no... it's everyone's fault but his own.

He made a lot of promises to voters that he cannot deliver or convince to the voting public that he infact did deliver.

You mean the exact same things that every administration has done since Reagan? The absolute worst things one could accuse Obama of (and be right about it) is more of the same, and making unreasonable promises. Promises, btw, that are still good ideas. But they're good for poor people, so our rich elected officials don't let them happen.

Bailing out specific corporations has been business as usual for most of the last century. Unsustainable spending and debt has been the name of the game since Nixon was president. And large bills that only the lobbyists read and then jam full of pork? That's nothing new either.

All of those things very much need to stop, which is why we need an actual radical liberal in power. The stuff Obama has done is about as deep into government and corporate politics as possible. An actual rogue who will give the finger to the wealthy parasites in this country... That'd be great. But if you think for a second that the pro-wealth, anti-equality, warmonger crowd will do that, then you are badly mistaken.
