So in the house all you need to control the house is a majority of the votes.
in the senate to really control the senate you need 60 votes which is almost impossible to get, but it has happened.

anything other than 60 votes in the senate requires you to come up with a compromised bill that can get 60 votes to over come a filibuster.
so while Republicans were in charge of the senate (a better term to use) they did not have full control of the senate as they didn't have 60 votes
required.

He has been asking for a wall since he became president. You don't seem to know what you are talking about.

I hate to speak on the behalf of Trump supporters, but he has shrunk the parts of government that they wanted shrunk. Which is basically everything other than the military, I would guess. I am pretty sure that if these federal workers never come back to work, it will be perfectly fine by the Trump base.

For example, the TSA: Who needs security on flights if they are allowed to carry all their firearms on to every plane? You can have a regular shootout at the OK corral at 30,000 feet on every flight, and they will be perfectly fine with that. It’s the price of freedom, you see.

And so what if people don’t have health insurance? Just tie a tourniquet around their arm, cut a vein, and bleed them into a basin for a little bit. Takes care of everything. If they’reshot in the arm, just chop it off. That’s what we did when America was great, and healthcare costs were low.

You have to realize, these people have a very different view of the world than the rest of us in the modern world. They still live some time in the 19th century, in the frontier wild west, sometime a few years after the Civil War.

Why don't you deal with the funding bills passed in late December?

You remember right? The bipartisan funding bill the Senate passed 98-2.

The President is a patriot.

When he leaves the White House, he wants to know that he was able to build a "barrier" to help protect our country from people who think that they have a God-given right to just walk in here whenever they feel like it.
