Michael Flynn has pled to lying to the FBI. Which is a serious crime in and of itself, as far as the law is concerned. You personally may not be concerned that Trump's former national security adviser lied to the FBI, however the law takes those matters seriously.

We know Flynn was a part of a conspiracy to kidnap a Turkish national and ship them off to their fate in Turkey.

If prosecutors truly had come up with nothing, they would've pursued Flynn ruthlessly. Amid the howling that this is a witch hunt, or a wild goose chase, if prosecutors had no bigger fish to fry, they would fry the good sized catfish in front of them. But, they are after a Marlin, it seems, and Flynn is helping them.

Meanwhile, Flynn's plea comes at a time when many others in Trump's circle are simultaneously cooperating. It's exceedingly unlikely that everyone is cooperating in different directions, away from Trump. The most likely scenario is that Mueller is taking cooperation in a cohesive direction. And that there are a lot more anvils to drop coming in 2019.

Merry Christmas!

That is a matter of opinion, often based on confirmation bias.

My argument regarding the "crime" of lying to investigators is that it should only be chargeable if the lie(s) have any material relationship to a real crime the individual is trying to hide. However, IMO when there is no seminal crime and the ONLY "crime" is lying, then it is not really a "serious crime." IMO it should not even be a crime since the statement(s) are not made under oath to tell the truth, and do no actual harm unless the deception is attempting to hide an actual crime.

Citation please, as I do not follow "stories" religiously and am not familiar with any such crime being charged.

I respectfully disagree. Prosecutors do not only stop because they must have found something and are being "nice" in order to get cooperation. They also stop, strangely enough, when they determine there is really nothing else to find.

However, giving you the benefit of the doubt, I am willing to wait and see what Mueller's "big reveal" is going to be rather than speculate as you seem to be doing.

Meanwhile, Flynn's plea comes at a time when many others in Trump's circle are simultaneously cooperating. True. Many others seem to be cooperating. In what way though we have yet to determine.

But isn't that how "witch-hunts" typically work? Dig until you find something, find something and accuse, accuse and then compel them to accuse the next "witch" in line?

This all started with a clear desire to insure (Strzok's words, not mine) that in the unlikely event Trump won he would be undone anyway.

Just remember, this investigation was never begun to find him innocent, it was started to find him guilty of something. No one expected it not to do exactly what is has been doing, except perhaps Mr. Trump who IMO foolishly thought it would prove what he already knew...that he was not involved in any conspiracy with Russia to undermine the election.

I would agree with you. It is quite obvious to many that mueller is after a bigger fish. If not then why does he continue to seek cooperation, and if there was nothing else, why is the investigation till ongoing? Now we don’t know the bigger fish (or fishies) but one can make an educated guess.

2019 going to be very interesting!

That must be why Mueller asked for NO TIME. Der...

The judge challenged Flynn's team to withdraw their plea, and prove their claims. They are now gathering evidence to do jus that, I would hope....
