From what I have read when given a single does of the present covid vaccines, they did not produce sufficient antibodies. They require a second dose given after a period of time to provide the antibodies necessary to make the vaccine effective. Since you have to wait for a period of time after the first does, unlike flu vaccines, the stage three takes longer. Just so you know, multiple doses of a vaccine is not unusual. Many types of vaccine require multiple doses. Polio vaccine is just one such and shingles vaccine is another.

Yes, it will take many months to determine if any vaccine is both effective and safe. Rushing, cutting corners and prematurely approving any medication is rash at best and potentially disastrous in the worst case. Then again when did Trump ever give a damn about anything but getting re-elected?
Testing must be carried out according to established clinical trial protocols in everyone's best interests.
