Why People Still Support Trump

I have been thinking about why so many people stick with Trump after all his egregious statements, reprehensible behavior, criminal history, marital infidelity and daily lying about things that any idiot can see are just plain self-serving lies. Most MAGANS cannot tell you one single plan Trump has proposed for making the lives of the American people better, other than expelling 21 million illegal immigrants. But that is not why they support him.

What he has done is something way more powerful than good policy, speaking the truth, showing integrity, being honest or any other common expectation of a candidate. He has made himself retribution, not against his enemies but against the “enemies of America.” He has excelled at creating enemies for every MAGAN voter that they NEED him to destroy because they can’t. They believe his claim that America needs him because all the hatred of his followers for their perceived enemies can only be resolved by destroying people he has taught his followers to hate/fear.

The single excuse I hear from MAGANS is this: without Trump America is doomed!

MAGANS don't measure his success by what he does for them. They measure his success by what he does to the people they don't like. This is what they desperately need him to do. Trump’s commitment to tormenting, eliminating or destroying their “enemy” sustains and binds them to him. To MAGANS, Trump is not running for President. He is running for Savior.

Bottom line, people that are supporting Trump are not supporting him because of what he is going to do for them. They're supporting him because of what hell he will bring down on people they don't like. MAGANS see these people as their personal enemy, the enemy of America and the enemy to “our way of life.” They see them as their competition. People with clear memories of his last chaotic Presidency don't believe Trump is going to fix the problems he claims he will “fix on day 1.” MAGANS don’t care about fixing the nation’s problems. They care deeply that he will make life hell for those they despise and hate. Their belief that Trump will vanquish, destroy and eliminate their enemies is the silent titanium bond that nobody can cut.

Nobody cultivates more groups to hate/fear than Trump. It is his entire campaign. Let’s look at Trump’s enemy list which just happens to be the enemy list of his supporters.

Electric car advocates/owners
Democrats

Leftists

leftists, Marxists, Communists and criminals that run the US government & everything else

The tax system
Gays
Trans folks and all involved in that process
Liberal Christianity
Islam
Refugees
Media personalities
Entertainers
Broadcast TV
Those eating pets
Stupid people
Vicious people
People threatening our way of life
Secret Cabals
The education system
Angry cat women

MAGANS chose their personal enemies from this list and Trump refers to them a evil people committed to destroying America. That big umbrella covers all the fears, anger, hate and vitriol of MAGA world. It is why, no matter what he says or does, all they want is someone to provide their enemies with retribution. To them America is infested and Trump is their exterminator.

Most people are not political. They're going to vote for what they think is best for themselves and the country. Democrats have sealed their fate by pushing unpopular woke issues on what is largely a religious conservative base. Also not helping is Democrat's stand on immigration, crime, BLM, and host of other subjects. Democrats can take all the fake polls they want but they're going to get a reality check at the ballot box.

Because voting for Kamala Harris is tantamount to full on insanity.
We know what a Trump Presidency looks like - and it wasn't bad. Sure the left will tell you it was the worst 4 years in American history - but, to bring back the first point - they are the ones voting for Harris - so who the hell would listen to them?

It wasn't bad??? He failed to accomplish any of his signature promises. A small fraction of his stupid wall got built by taking money from our military. Obamacare was not repealed and replaced with something better that he wa soigné to announce "in a few weeks. At his disastrous debate, he admitted he only had "concepts of a plan".

A chaotic single term, wracked by scandal and corruption, with a revolving door of shady characters into and out of the White House. How many of Trump alleged "best people" have ended up disgraced and/or criminally charged. Two impeachments - that has never happened before - a disastrous handling of a pandemic from the admin that disbanded the office designed to help deal with pandemics. Lots of rallies. Lots of golf. Dragging his entourage to his properties as yet another way of padding his pockets with taxpayer dollars. Economy falling off a cliff, shedding tons of jobs. Jan 6th and smoke coming from our Capitol. On and on. Presidential historians have Donald listed at or near the bottom of most every ranking of past Presidents. Nixon is ranked far higher.

I have to wonder what it would take fo you to consider it something worse than "not bad". WTF are you smoking?

Anyone with the ability to think rationally. Harris is stable, experienced, young, and smart. She has morals, and understands and respects our legal system. In other words, she is everything your Dear Leader Donald is not.

Should he manage to seize power again, it will be an unmitigated disaster. We fired him after his single terrible term. I don't then Americans will make that mistake again.

I will agree that the four years with Trump as president was not the worst four years, but in recent decades, it competes with being the worst.

His administration set up the worst withdrawal plan that Biden was forced to adhere to by law. Engaged in a trade war with China that has hurt US agriculture (most of my family in Iowa almost lost everything as a result). Total mismanagement of COVID. Millions lost jobs and those jobs that were created were part-time jobs at low pay with no benefits preventing Americans from the ability to secure themselves financially and to invest. He denigrated our veterans. Cozied up to fascists and made the US a laughingstock on the world's stage. Failed to not only build a lame ass wall, but engaged in eminent domain for it, taking away private property from Americans (thought you guys were against that). And did not even come close to deporting the amount of illegals that Obama before and Biden afterwards did. I could go on...but I think you get the idea.

After he left office, good jobs started coming back, stock market started an upwards trend, my financial portfolio has gone back to being profitable as it was during Obama's administration (even added a new 401K), Americans are starting to get more liquid capital with which to invest again (I'd like to see it improve more, but am happy with the upward trend), my family in the military respect their political leaders more and aren't worried about illegal orders from CINC, our respectability from our allies is returning. I could go on...but I think you get the idea.

Now, don't me wrong, there are still problems. There are issues we need worry about still, and new ones coming down the pike. But given Trump's decline over the past few weeks in his mental acuity and age (as you all pointed with Biden), if he is exhausted now over campaigning...how the **** is he going to be able to do his duties as president? You guys pointed that out with Biden and it looks like you all may very well have been right...so you guys gotta look at Trump that way as well. And when you do, whether you will admit it or not, you're going to realize how inept, incompetent and incapable he is to do the job given his age now. If he was bad before, he will be worse now. And that will now, on top of being a horrible person, be due to his age.

I thought the most liberal politician was Bernie or Newsom in California? In the post it was Hillary, Biden, Liz Warren, Pelosi, or Obama because from my perspective the most liberal politician is anyone that you dont like who is in the national spotlight, regardless of their possibly policies

You conveniently omitted that the political opposition of Democratic Party voters is more than 90 percent white and completely decoupled from present day demographics and demographic trend. Biden attracted 42% of the white vote in 2020. There are 29 black women in the House Democratic caucus and none in the Republican. There are 189 seats in the two highest courts combined, Trump nominated 57 to those seats, none are black,
