While Saddam is on trial for mass murder, we need to think about his accomplices, who until now, have gotten away with supporting what Saddam was doing.

1) Saddam is now on trial for the massacre of dissidents in 1982. That year, the US removed Iraq from the list of terrorist sponsoring states, and within 2 years, had restored full diplomatic relations with Hussein.

2) The US was the only country that voted against a UN Security Council statement in 1986 condemning the mustard gas attacks by Iraq on the Iranian forces!

3) The US allowed its companies to export chemicals to Iraq, which used them on its enemies.

4) The United States had during the Iran-Iraq war, provided Saddam with samples of all the strains of germs used for making biological weapons!

5) Saddam got uranium from Portugal, France and Italy and assistance for centrifuge enrichment came from Germany, before UN inspections shut down his efforts shortly after the first Gulf War.

Who are Saddam's accomplices to the heinous acts he committed? The West, of course. Back then, Iran was our enemy, and Iraq our good friend, who we gave technology to so he could kill many.

We all are guilty as charged.
