Why Obama is losing his Liberal support

For me, the biggest reason that Obama is losing my support is that he is kowtowing too much to businesses. Look at the health care bill, it was basically a give away when we should have gone to single payer. Look at the financial regulation bill which the banks got their way on too much stuff. Look at the stimulus which funneled to business when we should have been setting up WPA style infrastructure projects, etc.

Plus we should be leaving Iraq and Afghanistan by now, even if we haven't won because we will never civilize those people until they want to be and I doubt they will be convinced to give up tribalism for nationalism any time soon.

The problem is how our national image will appear if we do leave. Not saying that our image right now is glorious to any extent. I agree it doesnt help us financially but we need to do something to slow them down. Establish some sort of order untill they can contain the threat themselves. We've thrown way too much into the war as is.

At this point, I have little faith that it could ever be accomplished. I say we just split the place into multiple countries along ethnic lines, establish those governments and leave.

Yeah, it's too funny, while the right are crying about the take over of the health care system, car industry and financial institutions as proof of how socialist he is, the left is crying that he's been too subservient to big business on those very same issues.

LOL..Go figure...

Yeah, I have noticed that too. Which is part of the reason I think Obama is actually pretty centrist in many things. However, in times like these, he should focus on stuff that will help the country and not being bi-partisan.

So, were you under the misconception that Obama was stating that he wanted to end the ware in Afghanistan in the same way as he wanted to end the war in Iraq? I wasn't, and I don't know how anyone else could have possibly been.

That's the problem. You don't know how.
