Why I Will Never Be a Tea Partier

I think most tea Partyer's stand on issues is pretty much what our founding fathers have written in the constitution and Bill of Rights. Of course their are procedures for change and our government today seems to ignore these rules, again another issue that tea partyer's have taken up. Our government has become to big and can no longer represent the people effectively in all manner of methods. Tea partyer's IMO wish to rein in government and put a leash on it, enough is enough and needs to be done before it destroys this country.

While I want to get energized by what you say I do question the timing. President Bush saw three of our bill of rights taken away, spend trillions and started a pointless war. The time between 2000 and 2008 was one of the worst periods where the government overstept its authority. Why not during those years. Why now and why so much anger at this administration. Why be part of the Repubican party and not an independant party?

Kinda makes one wonder what the future holds for America; when the name is changed to CorpAmeica and if they will be using the colors of Red White and Blue in the flag.

Of course I guess the Corp. masters would be more partial to green wouldn’t they? :2wave:
I suppose green is no better the red, but one or the other will be the death of us. As for now green is far more important than red, because green can be controlled with out a revolution. Red demands servitude without compensation and wishes to equalize misery, this will breed anarchy and war as history will attest to to every example tried..

A third party will only guarantee dem. wins. Better to take over and change the republican party.

Thats just it. If you vote for either party you vote to keep it the same. If you TRUELY want change a thrid or fourth party is needed.

Third parties on a federal have failed at every turn in America's election cycles, now on a local and state level it is winning to some extent. The American people have beem a sleep at the whell for generations, the feds have been at long before Bush etc. and both parties have blood on their hands, you have to gpo back more than 70 years. The constitution for the most part has been ignored starting around 1914. Just remember it took both parties to approve the war and it has been this way for decades.

I agee with you up until this part.

Lets remember what the vote was on. President Bush stated that our enemy knew our laws and needed to have congress agree to war so he could use it as a threat. That without it we would not be taken serious. I saw much of the debate and can tell you that it was said the power he recieved would be used as a LAST resort. It was not. President Bush lied to the American people, congress and to the UN to justify the war. Colen Powell quit because he was a good man who was used for bad things.

Regardless of what a president does to get us into war, the ultimate responsibility is upon Congress and at that time Democrats ruled, besides this is a decades old problem. That said, I am not looking to place blame on one party or the other, it's way past that time now. Both parties are inept, cowardly, corrupt and act in a unconstitutional manner, time for it to be reduced in size and power by the people it is suppose to represent.

Not if the people you are voting for are independents or libertarians running as republicans.

The same way the Democratic party is being taken over by socialists. :)

The teaparty movement thrives off of individuals who are emotional, reactionary, lacking in political education, and above all, willing to accept information from any likely sounding source without questioning it.

Tea Partiers wealhier, more educated

The teaparty has no direction, no firm goals, no real leaders, and no actual plan.

yup; thats one of their strengths.

Show me where in the Democratic Party in this country there is anything that smacks of socialism.

Here's a start.

After decades of failed attempts to take over America via their third party initiatives that couldn’t break America’s two party system, leaders of both the Communist Party USA and Socialist Party USA chose a new strategy.
Both being the ultimate “party of the working class stiff,” they joined forces in a new venture that would work within the US two party system, by hijacking control of one of the two primary parties. As the Democrat Party had already spent years identifying itself as the “party of the working class,” engaging in socio-economic class warfare as its primary method for expanding its political power, it was ripe for the hijacking.

The democrats are FAR from socialists. Can you give at least two examples of how the democrats are socialist. Two because I know healthcare will be one of them. . . and its not.

hey at least most of em have jobs.... This sort of smear by certain folks in regards to the teaparty is old, played and so full of crap it's hard to take the critisizm like this seriously. You all no matter how hard you try don't get to define us.

Also instead of parroting "spot on" perhaps you can try thinking for yourself for a change, I doubt you would be able to articulate specific issued you have with the tea party.

Typical ploy to define the opposition and then draw them into a debate on your turf. We all get caught up in that sometime. Best to ignore the oppostion's premise and advance your own.

The Boston Tea Party was a direct action by colonists in Boston, a town in the British colony of Massachusetts, against the British government. On December 16, 1773, after officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of taxed tea to Britain, a group of colonts boarded the ships and destroyed the tea by throwing it into Boston Harbor. The incident remains an iconic event of American history, and other political protests often refer to it.What do u expect free taxes, haha now u understand,go and have a cup of tea haha.love that.

you would have got your freedom anyway as the same as Canada.

It was the Scots that gave you it.

god bless the United states of America.

The ironic thing is the Tea Act actually drove DOWN the cost of tea for the colonists.

yes it is. If I may suggest Sun Tzu's discussion of 'formlessness' to you.
That strategy requires that you be able to assume a form at the last possible moment and attack while the enemy is unaware. The teabagger movement does NOT have that kind of organization or strategy.

Sounds familiar.

No, my problem is an irresistible urge to try and counter authority regardless of the consequences. That and I've been told I have boundary issues :)
