Why "Fusionist" Libertarian-Republicans Aren't Really Libertarians At All

Well, you were talking about the tea party not being monolithic and containing libertarian elements. I quoted you but it was also part of an exchange with Mellie as well, if you recall.

I was trying to say that those libertarian elements within the Tea Party aren't really libertarians, not necessarily that you were one of them. Looking back I should have phrased it as "if one can't see that Republicans are a threat to civil liberties then one is not really a libertarian," but I didn't want to sound like a Victorian schoolmarm.

I think the Tea Partiers who call themselves libertarians should face up to the fact that they are really just run of the mill republicans.

and all the "libertarians" who claim the dems are more in favor of freedom should just come out and admit they are socialists
