Hey, I just wanted to point an interesting fact:

I'm swedish (and yes, we are taking over this forum), and we have a tradition here of not translating media by adding swedish soundtracks, but by favouring subtitles; therefore, individuals commited to media quickly learn languages a lot faster.

I was fluent in english at the age of twelve, and today, i study english, french, spanish, and chinese, all with high grades. Maybe you other guys (germans, frenchies and yanks) should take this as a hint; dump the nationalism, and embrace the foreign friends! BTW, listening to foreign music will help you perfectionize your pronounciation (subliminal learning). Just a heads up.

Yeah, I'm from Sweden too, and I totally agree with you! ;)

I agree, and I hate whenever a movie is dubbed. In fact, I also resent when an American movie that supposedly takes place in a foreign country has the actors speaking English -- "The Hunt for Red October" is my least favorite in this regard, since the Soviet sub crew starts out speaking Russian but switches to English a few minutes in, as if the writers were just too lazy to keep translating the script into Russian as they wrote. It bugs the (poop) out of me!
