It's a serious question. Why do people lie about George Soros? Is it because he is a rich man who does not toe the pc line of the lame stream rich men?

I suggest you read what people have been saying about him on this message board.

You claimed he wasn't convicted of insider trading.

That's false.

What lies? He's a far left loon with more money than God. He's out to destroy Glenn Beck and Fox News. He funds several progressive org. such as Media Matters NPR, Center for American Progress. He did his best to effect the 2004 election because of his extreme hatred for GW Bush. He's managed to collapse the economy of other countries and who says he's not trying to collapse ours?
I guess liberals can pick and choose the rich and powerful people they will support and those they demonize (like the Koch bro)

If you lie about me one more time I will report you. Is that clear?

Now, please read the posts on debatepolitics.com that accuse Soros of being a convicted felon. As far as teh insider trading goes, the standards and laws of other nations do not apply here in America. The socialists in France went after Soros.

lol

Not sure how I lied about you. You implied that he had not been convicted of insider trading by saying "What insider trading conviction?" Either you didn't know about it (in which case you're posting authoritatively on something you know nothing about), or you knew about it and were just being incredibly disingenuous.

Yes, which is why he was prosecuted in France.

I am an honest person. When people I like or agree with lie, I admit 'they lied' and I used to expect the same honesty from others. But alas, it is not easily forthcoming. I ddn't know Soros was out to destroy FOX News. It loos like FOX News is out to destroy Soros, if you ask me or any honest observer.

Glenn Beck? What does Soros care about a ranting paranoid alcoholic with a large megaphone (self described)?

Thank you for recognizing that "Media Matters NPR, Center for American Progress" are both 'progressive' groups' and not liberal or leftist or Democratic groups.

George Soros collapsed the ecomonies of other countries or bet on their collapses? Do you despise the free market? Is Soris all that powerful and if he really did what you say he did, he'd be a dead man. Soros hates Bush? Maybe, i never asked him. I do know he hated the right wing noise machine and liars who went after Clintomn -- you know, the RIGHT WING Billionaires? I guess some peop,e hate billionaires who betray their class? LOL

The Kock brothers are bad in that they and others are trying to anonymously flood the political process with money. As far as I know all of Soros' donations were public.

Do I like Soros? Yes and no. I don't exactly love currency speculators and manipulators, but I do know that most all of them are right wing conservatives.

I did not imply anything such as you say. I asked an honest question. Because I have never before heard of people using convictions for breaking foreign laws as an attack on people in the American political process. I thought you all were implying Soros was convicted of insider trading in America, where it matters. I didn't know conservatives and right wingers gave so much credence to French law or the French political system.

We do not recognize Fench laws.

People @ debatepolitics.com have accused George Soros of being a convicted felon, and this is obviously (for those breathing air) what I was refering to.

What thread please. This whole thing is debatepolitics. Whats the name of thread and forum?

Just a little trip down memory lane here. Watergate and it's post 1972 Reforms were in essence meant to inhibit someone like Soros having massive influence in our Electoral process. Liberals by and large look upon those times as meaningful.

Few of late are even slightly concerned about Soros.

The sad part about right wing attacks and the politics of personal destruction is how easily they can be exposed for how pathetically false and misrepresenting they are.

1) Vachon said Soros will appeal the case at the Court de Cassation, the equivalent of the Supreme Court.

2) Soros has two options for appeal.

3) In France, a suspect is presumed innocent until the final appeal is completed.

---

Since Soros is still presumed innocent in France, it is pathetic and misleading for an American to even suggest he is guilty. No one named how America would ever consider Soros a convict, let alone a convicted felon.

Huh? Who is fighting disclosure?

Oh boy.

Your article is from 2005, saying that Soros might still appeal to the Cour de Cassation.

This article, from 2006, which I already provided for you, shows that he DID appeal to the Cour de Cassation. He lost.

Much of what American Financial Institutions did that constituted to the 2007/2008 economic crisis may be illegal under the laws of other countries. Would that make them all criminals? Insider trading laws differ from country to country. Why do people have to use the French conviction to demonize a man? Why do they lie about Soros too?

For the same reason people lie about the Koch brothers. The "fat cats" are an easy target. Nobody feels especially ashamed of tossing mud at guys who have everything.

I agree some people lie about the Kock brothers, but for better or worse, they have been involved in the political process in the USA for ages. They have a track record that is so partisan it is easy to criticize without using lies.

The same is true for Soros and many other well-heeled lefties.

I know that if I had resources of David Koch or George Soros I would be doing exactly what they do: Spend my money to make a difference, according to what I believe in. And by the way, when it comes to gay rights, immigration or the Idiotic War on (some) Drugs, they are spending their money on the same causes.

Needless to say, as a libertarian, I am mightily annoyed at Soros for his blind support of Democratic politicians - and almost as much for his fatuous pop-philosophical scribblings. But I also remember the role his foundation played in the Eastern Europe - supporting the nascent anti-totalitarian organizations at the time when such support was vital. Let the man be. It's not like he can bribe me into voting for an authoritarian socialist or against free-market policies; and if it is about immigration or marijuana - he doesn't have to...

All I know is he wrote the playbook on liberalism and he holds my puppet strings unseen, I guess. I've never actually read a word he's written but that appears to be the gist of it.

How long has Soros been involved with funding groups American politics?

Why are you asking me? Did I present myself as an expert on him?

Soros "Open Society Institute was created in 1993 by investor George Soros to support his foundations in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union." - Open Society Foundations - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Your 'same' is not true.

I was unaware Soros advocates "voting for an authoritarian socialist policies" as far as free market policies, very few sane people advocate all the policies people come up with so you could accuse everyone from Adam Smith to Alan Greenspan of being against some free market policies
