The corruption in our government is really sickening. Though I know it exists, some of these guys just need to be locked up, Wouldnt it be nice to see half of congress and the white house booted and given there own little prison?

We could just start fresh....and hope for the best.

"WASHINGTON — A congressman under investigation for bribery was caught on videotape accepting $100,000 in $100 bills from an FBI informant whose conversations with the lawmaker also were recorded, according to a court document released Sunday. Agents later found the cash hidden in his freezer.

At one audiotaped meeting, Rep. William Jefferson, D-La., chuckles about writing in code to keep secret what the government contends was his corrupt role in getting his children a cut of a communications company's deal for work in Africa.

As Jefferson and the informant passed notes about what percentage the lawmaker's family might receive, the congressman "began laughing and said, 'All these damn notes we're writing to each other as if we're talking, as if the FBI is watching,"' according to the affidavit.

Jefferson, who represents New Orleans, has not been charged and denies any wrongdoing."

Jefferson is from La, BTW - the land of corruption. I heard there is an investigation trying to tie in Naggin and the Gov. as well into the corruption. It is widely known and has been reported about the wide-spread corruption in La, especially in N.O. As reported, millions of dollars supposed to be going to maintaining the levees were 'diverted'. When the Army Corp of Engineers inspected several of the levees right after the hurricane they found the levees filled with crushed sea shells and sand instead of the cement they were supposed to be filled with (by a local construction company who had gotten a LOT of moneyto do the job). More recently, an out-of-state company offered Naggin several Million for the right to come in and take away all the cars damaged by the flood that are now littering N.O. Naggin declined the offer then HIRED a local buddy down in L.A. to do the job at a COST to N.O. of a couple million - just an example of the 'good stewardship' Naggin is exercising over the $21 BILLION tax-payer dollars he is being entrusted with to re-build his 'Chocolate City'! :doh (Can you BELIEVE this nimrod was voted back into office?!)

The power of the incumbent. Seeing that Bush was voted back into office it's really not to difficult to see how Naggin was voted back as well. The ballot unfairly favors the incumbent.

All these guys are pretty disgusting. I seriously hope that we can get at least 1 more praty into the government.

After watching Bush get elected not once, but twice, I believe anything is possible.

NO is a ****hole. They shoulda just paved over it or filled in in with fill dirt.

And the Saints suck too.

Seriously, on the NO thing, It's the worst possible place that you could have a city at. It was a mistake the first time it was built there and expanded. To rebuild it there again is just fuc/ing stupid. You can only fight against mother nature with so many things. Rebuilding No in it's current location is suicide, it's inevitable that NO will be hit again with a strong hurricane, it's inevitable that corrupt local and federal officials will divert money from protecting the citizens to thier own pockets. Why not just rebuild the city on the higher ground that is only a few miles further up the Mississippi. The whole city is under sea level! How dumb do you have to be to understand that that's a disaster waiting to happen?
NO has been completely flooded and destroyed twice within a hundred years. You would think that in itself that says something.
