Why do educated voters LIKE Donald Trump?

This is a literal and isolated question. If all you care about is opposing the Democratic Party and supporting whoever the Republican nominee would have been, this thread is not for you. That is not liking Trump himself, just liking what he is not. I want to know why people who like Trump himself, based only on what he says and does, not any lies the conservative media tells.
 
It has to do with globalization.

If you're a working person, you worry about your job moving to Mexico where it can be done for pennies on the dollar. You also worry about immigration and you believe that illegal immigrants lower your wages.


Some voters wanted a club to club congress over the head with.
 
Trump single handedly prevented Hillary from becoming our next president. Neither Mittens Romney or John McStain had the fire power to defeat the Dems. Go along to get along losers! He was just what the country needed to get us back on the right track.
 
If you're an "educated" trump supporter, then odds are that you support him exclusively because of the way that he would aggressively carry out deregulation. That's basically it.
 

So the right track is hating immigrants, legal and illegal, demonizing Muslims, resentment of the media, and all the wonderful bigotry he preaches?

There are many reasons other than the only one you give.
 

Please, Trump would have easily lost to Obama worse than either McCain or Romney did.

Trump was lucky he faced Hillary, actually.

Oh, I know. There's appointment of conservative judges, of course. But any Republican president would have done that.

Then there's the aggressive deregulation, and that's getting a bit closer to the truth because a Romney or a Pence would have been a little more restrained about it. Not Trump!

And then you get down to the nitty gritty of what Trump is really all about, which is trolling the libs.

Trump doesn't hate immigrants he only wants them to come here legally under our immigration laws. That's a pretty good immigration policy if you ask me. You have a problem with that? When did Trump say he hated immigrants coming into the country legally I'd like know.

Liberals have been selling their lies, hate and nastiness as peace & love for long enough. Many are tired of it. Tired of being lied about & to. Tired of being ripped off. Tired of the stupidity they sell us expecting us to all jump on board saying; "Yeah !! That's a good idea !!" - no matter how dangerous or sick the idea IS.

"Owning liberals" is not a real action.

No matter how much people hate Democrats, none of their reasons to do so justify liking Trump - as opposed to any other Republican if his supporters had a realistic choice.

Obama had the whole first black president thing going for him. That's done and over now don't look for Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton to get drafted at a deadlocked Dem convention. Not gonna happen.

I would say I do not like trump but I tolerate him.

I voted for him to keep the court conservative. I happen to agree with the constitution so having a court that holds the individual right of each citizen over the "common good" philosophy is a plus. He has stood up to that expectation.

NATO, is it good that he is hard on the countries who are not meeting their commitments for NATO defense spending, absolutely.

Border control, Is this even a debate any longer with a pandemic spreading around the world? Chances are, much tighter boarder control and health assessments will be future requirements.

The second amendment. Always understood why or forefathers put it into the constitution and it seems many people are grateful for their rights and are buying guns at a high rate during this pandemic. Why are they doing this? Because they do not thing the government will defend them when they most need it.
Trade, I understand how complicated trade can be but the free trade with low wage third world countries has made corporation rich and gutted some many communities in this country. Could he be more elegant about telling corporations to be more socially conscious, absolutely, but it seems Tariffs have accomplished the same goal.
Lower taxes on those RICH, GREEDY, CORPORATIONS. If we do not have equivalent taxes for corporations compared with other countries, those corporations will leave the US. I watched Corporations leave the US while Obama was president and said this is not as difficult a solution as you make it out to be. Make the Average corporate tax rate 25 percent which is the world average and corporations will not have an incentive to leave this country.

ISIS, I liked the fact that he took the restrictions off the military so they could do their job as efficiently and effectively as possible.

IRAQ, that is one F___ed up country who probably will never be able to govern themselves in a democratic environment. It was absolutely a mistake going in and two presidents after Bush have continued the nightmare for the military complex.

I am sure there are thousands of reasons why you hate Trump. I am just giving you my opinion so I do not really want a ton of nasty remarks and probably will not respond unless they are respectful and thoughtful.

The funny thing is that I had vote for Bernie Sands over CLinton in the Primary. He was the most honest candidate of the three. I liked him but the DEM party does not.

How about when he said all Mexicans entering the United States are "drug cartels" and need to be eliminated from the face of the Earth? I don't know the exact quote, but that was what he meant.

And don't forget Trump's executive order to ban immigration from "Muslim" nations, based on the widespread myth that just being a Muslim makes someone a terrorist. That was not the first or last time he expressed clear prejudice against Muslims.

Captain, nobody said Donald Trump caused the coronavirus to exist. That would be idiotic.
