Is this debate politics rendition of the Stones at Altamont?

Did you know that Lew Alcindor, not Jabbar, was actually the first center to start using the "Sky Hook" in games?

Out of curiousity, who do you like better as a player, Walt Frazier or Clyde Frazier?
Clyde was lucky West was hurt. Or we would have ate your lunch!

And that other loser, "Oooh, my hip hurts, my hip hurts!"

That option about unilateralism shows how skewed the author of this topic is toward the left. Republicans are not in favor of unilateralism. Bush senior, for example, was a master at reigning in support from every corner of the world. Just because we couldn’t get Germany and France’s surrender specialists to grasp the overwhelming, obvious need to urgently remove Saddam, doesn’t mean that Republicans favor unilateralism.

It just means we are like the Israelis -we are use to being condemned by Europe for even considering doing something about foreign threats, then we sometimes have to disregard our visionless, European ignoramus “allies” bound to never learn from their own history, and do the smart thing anyway. Then, we get condemned again. The Israelis were pre-condemned for considering taking out Saddam’s nuclear program, they bombed it anyway, and then, (as thanks for ridding the world of a serious threat-largely made possible by France) France and the other retreatist chorus condemned them again.

Besides, Democrats would and have acted unilaterally to protect things the people don’t agree with them about- to protect frivolous lawsuits, to keep abusive, mafia-style labor unions protected, to thwart judicial nominees even after the public has chosen Republicans repeatedly and increasingly in every major national election for years upon years now.

Go to Google and type in John Perkins. Then click on the interview with John Perkins on Democracy Now. Download the audio file and listen to history.

They say there's a price for freedom, democracy and the American way of life. It seems that the poor nations citizens are paying that price.

I am getting in on this thread a little late but I would like to make one thing perfectly clear............As a Conservative I don't hate Liberals, in fact I feel sorry for them........It must be miserable to have to live a life of negativity amd to have to play on the emotions of the poor and minorities to accomplish their agenda.......

I think it's equal, or at the very least judged by one's personal point of view. Liberals feel abused by Conservatives and vice versa. It's that simple, IMHO.

I also think that the vast, vast majority of people from both sides don't hate each other. Think of all the people you work with that have all different types of political views? Do you dislike your co-workers or family members who have different politics than you do? I think not.

What I think is fair to say is that Liberals HATE Republican policies, and Republicans HATE Liberal policies. That does not mean that we hate each other.

Even if you think someone is an asshole due to their politics that does not mean that you think he's an all-around asshole. Most people like each other regardless of their political persuasion, IMHO.

Very true. My dad and I disagree on a lot, and I don't hate him. That is why this thread is soooo stupid. My favorite teacher is a liberal.

Actually most young people are liberal.......Then they grow up, get married, raise a family and become much wiser and realize the error of the ways and that Conservatism is the only way to go......

Where have you been the past several years?

Bush senior is history, baby. We're talking about the current administration.

So, you would agree with me then, that Iraq was no longer a threat. And therefore, we had no business breaking international law to turn an otherwise impotent nation upside down.

Do understand what I mean by unilateral? We are talking about unilateral intervention in the sense of international politics.

Why don't you just say what you mean? You could have saved yourself a lot of typing by just saying, "I don't care for liberals." I feel sorry for conservatives like you. Although, some conservatives are quite knowledgable and interesting to engage.

O no not this again. Can we all get back on the subject of basketball? Cause this is going to lead nowhere.

O and by the way you need to have a internationa law to break a international law. Can we at least agree here?
