Sasse and Lee did not pay a political price for opposing Trump. Look at the contrast with Senators Cruz and Heller. All four had a history of opposing Trump. The Trumpkins turned on Cruz and Heller, jeopardizing one and defeating the other. Sasse and Lee managed to get by unscathed. Why is that?

Sasse and Lee use deft political skill to hide their true colors to their constituents. They easily dupe most voters. Though Cruz also has outstanding academic credentials, many voters see him as a pretentious geek and nerd. Heller's Star, IMO, has never shined all that bright... he never garnished Celebrity Status among voters. He became the only incumbent GOP Senator to lose this election cycle.

Utah hates Trump, simple as that.

I know Mormons out of Utah, and results are mixed. Two of them are politically vocal. One is as anti-Trump as can be, the other settled in the Mid-West, started out incredibly anti-Trump and slid over the course of a year and a half completely into all-out Trumpism. It's not a huge data pool, obviously, but I wonder if geography has something to do with the latter's change.
