While there are no “good guys”, the fact is there is a bipartisan spending bill right now that would pass with veto-proof majorities, and Mitch McConnell is holding it up.

More Americans agree with Pelosi than Trump, yet Trump and McConnell are gumming up the works.

So this would be over if certain Republican members in Congress remembered they were a separate and equal branch of government.

That "bipartisan spending bill" is just a tactic of the Dems. This all started when a spending bill that gave Trump his money was blocked by Schumer...because it needed only five Senate Dems to pass it. He said no.

Of course, that was when Republicans controlled the House. Now that the Dems control the House both Chuck AND Nancy are saying no. They won't even negotiate...just no.

This is not an answer to what I wrote in the slightest.

Bipartisan means bipartisan.

There is a spending bill that would get veto-proof majorities in both houses...that means enough Dem AND GOP votes to pass with at least 2/3 members in each house. You don’t get such support without NEGOTIATION and COMPROMISE.

Now...Mitch McConnell won’t let that bill come to the floor.

The Republicans and Trump are the ones that only have a 36% voter base and the Democrats have the rest (64%) and it is the Republicans that fear losing their voter base because they have so few. Why do you think that the Republican Senators don't stand up for what is right? Why doesn't McConnell put the Government shut down amendment up for a vote? They are scared that Trump will veto it and they will lose the few votes they still have.

This immigration and border problem/debate has been going on for 40 years and the problem has been that the Democrats and Republicans have not been able to come to an agreement. This problem has not been about either party being able to solve the problem as it requires that both parties agree.
