Why are you so excited?

I really don't see why some conservatives are so excited to see the Republicans gaining some seats in November... what difference does it make? Both parties are incompetant, both have been in power and both have spent rediculous amounts of money in the past, what makes you think a Republican controlled congress will be or make anything better?

I mean conservatives always talk about the fact you shouldn't trust government, but yet you actually somehow believe that the Republicans can somehow restore "Fiscal Responsibility" Are you sure they weren't sitting in a brainstorming session saying

"What can we say to get elected?"

I'm not saying that the nessecarily won't do a good job. But some of you out there that think if we vote in the Republicans in November that will somehow change anything, are being really niave. Nothing will change until you get rid of your two party system.

Both parties are corrupt.
Both parties are incompetant.
Both parties have wonderful corporate sponsors

I am going to disagree a little. I don't think it comes down to which party is worse. I think it goes more on a person by person basis rather than a party basis. But I agree right now the Democrats are worse, but only because there are more of the in power. When Republicans get more seats I think you will see more people complaining about the Republicans. So, I would change your analogy, which I like, to either getting shot in the knee or elbow.

Well to some degree I concur. I was displeased in many ways with the government from 2001-2008, when it was mostly Repub-dominated. I wouldn't want the same crowd back in power.

However there has been a lot of movement in the Republican party at the grass-roots and primary level, some of it involving the tea party and some not. A lot of incumbents have lost their seats and will be unable to run with party backing this year; they've been replaced by relative newcomers who are not part of the "Ivy League" and the "good ole boy network", and there is some hope that things might actually improve a bit. The huge slapdown Republicans got in 2008, followed by a powerful anti-incumbent insurgency in the primaries this year, might actually teach them something and improve the breed a bit.

It's worth a shot. What we've got now, I wouldn't give spit on a hot griddle for. Frankly I think we're better off with gridlock than with either party having full majorities across the board.

I agree that it is worth a shot. I am just not holding my breath because I don't think much will change. The stink will still be as bad, just a different type of stink.

In my opinion, McCain, L. Graham, Snowe, and even Scott Brown are Rinos. I like people like Michelle Bachman,and Steve King. I know those two may seem a bit radical, but that's what we need more of to turn Obama's socialist agendas back around to the free market.

What difference does it make?

That Republicans will make gains, hopefully conservatives, would make a difference. Ideally we can shut down much of Obi's hopes for change, and at best lay out the roadwork to repeal ObiKare... for starters.

We can stop Obi from spending like drunk that won the lottery... perhaps reduce the tax burden for the achievers.

you have labeled them in two groups but you have not described what characteristics causes one to be a rino and another to be a certified conservative republican
