Blurred vision?:2razz:
Oh, yes, I, too, know a bottom feeder when I see one.
Blurred vision?:2razz:
Think about it.
No, there are not "wildly varying" interpretations. If you are going to lie about us, at least get it right.
You realize that little piece of personal information is unnecessary. I can point out vanity. What I do at times like that is simply not comment on things I have no interest in.
Yes there are. Christianity is split into hundreds of denominations because there's no objectivity and 100 Christians reading the same passage will come to 100 different shades of conclusions. You're just trying to pretend your personal subjective opinion is god's will.

why don't you explain, you posted it
Why do people express so much moral outrage?
A pair of academic researchers recently asked this question and discovered “that moral outrage at third-party transgressions is sometimes a means of reducing guilt over one’s own moral failings and restoring a moral identity.”
The paper is (appropriately) titled, “A cleansing fire: Moral outrage alleviates guilt and buffers threats to one’s moral identity.” It was written by Zachary K. Rothschild, an assistant professor of psychology at Bowdoin College, and Lucas A. Keefer, an assistant professor of social psychology at Southern Miss.

Took ya long enough to figure out what I said...:2razz:
there's a gate-keeper who keeps quoting me.Why are you in this thread?
No, you dont know what you are talking about. ALL mainstream Christian traditions have basically the same doctrine - Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again. Some dunk, some sprinkle, some have wine for the Eucharist, some have grape juice, some pray spontaneously, other pray formally, there isn't a dimes worth of difference in the "why" of what they do, but atheists have been trying to tell us for as long as I can remember that saying "to-mah-to" and "tomato" are different and separate religions (not including the cults and the one church denominations, but even the cults sound close enough to fool a LOT of people).
Finally, there are TONS of reference materials available in the public domain, so nobody has to misunderstand anything. Even a minimal amount of study will put you back on track.
You're wrong.
Because some posters have a habit of dragging the OP down a rabbit trail, changing the subject, and making a thread about them, and not about the OP.
and here I thought you were just lazy and could not explain
What you presented is not a doctrine that unites christians at all. If they had ever been united, they never would have splintered in the first place over the trivial matters you think are the only differences. And there wouldn't have been the violence and persecution of christians against other christians in history, some of which led to the founding of a new country which put religion in its proper place. The only reason thatr christians stopped killing each other is because they lost power, not because their differences are trivial.
That's the usual simple minded claim, but the reality is that the only reason Christians ever fought each other was because there was power and money at stake, not because of trivial scriptural differences.
lol...and that makes it better, huh...

It isn't simple minded claim. It historically accurate about christianity. It is simple minded to claim the difference is over trivial rituals and not important doctrines. They fought each other for many reasons, some of them having to do with their take on christianity. Otherwise, how could they tell each other apart? Nice try at whitewashing.
No, it's not accurate, it's self serving propaganda from atheists who want to make more out of the facts than what is there. Case in point: Henry VIII, who split from the RCC over the Pope's interference in Henry's reign. Henry, a devout Catholic, remained a Catholic until he died. And dont bother trying to tell me that the church split over Henry's divorce from Catharine, that was a sideshow compared to the rest of what was going on. It was a political split. Same with James II and the Protestants. Atheists like to say it's because of Christianity itself but the same things have happened in every other religion on earth. If you really want go screw things up, get people involved, they can screw up the best system in the world.
Out of your own mouth, you've just admitted Christendom was already corrupted by politics...thanks!
PEOPLE are corrupted by politics, your cult has had three splits in less than 100 years.

While Christians may not be killing one another at the present time, there still remains deep differences to the point that the word “hate” can even be applied in many cases. The claim that a particular sect is not properly following Christ is constant. Fundamentalists and mainstream Protestants, for instance. The fundies claim that the more liberal religions are not “Biblical”, whatever that means. Just look at this little forum—Christians fighting all the time over who follows the correct path and which is the “true” religion. And don’t beg off by claiming that you don’t follow a religion. Those types spend their time criticizing the Christian religions because of many claims they make against them for not following the words of Christ and participating in idolatry because they worship in a building. Who interprets the Bible correctly, etc etc etc. Christians fight (verbally) with one another constantly.
