Why are Democrat mayors unable to bring the riots, violence and destruction to an end?

They fear losing their jobs. And they are up against anarchists who have no goal but destruction and theft. Democrats may be less willing to use force against people than Republicans would, but Im not sure Republicans would fare that much better. Using too much force just makes things worse.

That is their strategy. Let cities burn and not intervene and the protests will eventually die out. Meanwhile, we are over 3 months now in daily rioting in Portland. It's bound to die out any day now. :roll:

That's just it. The left don't see these people for who they really are. All they see are peaceful protesters, and if the peaceful protesters go too far, all the left has to do is appeal to them and they will stop. Meanwhile, we are over 90 days and counting.

He also announced $4 million to support local businesses affected by the violence, and $42 million to support public safety statewide -- including support for law enforcement and prosecutors."

It amounts to a lot for the innocent business destroyed.

I call it practicality. Much like how the protestors using violence caused people to hate them more, the police using force against them causes more people to support them.

They don't even try. Their solution is to let things happen and arrest some people and let those people right back out to be arrested again the next night. I guess they think that once all the windows are broken and everything burned down the rioters will stop.
